Texas Gov. to send 1000 National Guard to protect the border in Texas.

Recommended Posts

I just ran across this article. I doubt anyone will say the GAO is a "suspect" source:

An undercover operation found that the majority of fake Obamacare applications submitted were approved by the health law's enrollment system.

Fake applicants were able to get subsidized insurance coverage in 11 of 18 attempts, according to a report from the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office. The agency conducted the sting operation to test the strength of the Affordable Care Act's eligibility-verification system.

The culture in the US now has been so degraded that it is almost non-existent. Many people would also tell you you have no right to tell anyone something is "wrong". Whatever you can get away with is right and OK, and they really believe that. Sad, and pride comes before the fall.

Brother in law and wife had 3 children in California (they both were illegal). Children were born "free" to an "unwed" mother who said the father had returned to Mexico. They (after 14 years ) returned to Mexico with almost $400,000 in cash (they had saved from his

"landscape business" that was not on record anywhere, and his payments were in cash. All 3 children benefited from US schools, and lots of help to a "single" mom. They laugh at me when I tell them that was wrong. They say it was "easy"

What a good example of: "You can choose your friends but you sho' can't choose your family, an' they're still kin to you no matter whether you acknowledge 'em or not, " Harper Lee

Sounds like only family by marriage at least, unless his sister was (is) illegal.

Small consolation.

Obviously they can get caught if the numbers are correct because they were caught or we wouldn't know, right? I don't understand why signing up for the ACA illegally is a big deal.

If the person doesn't have money or insurance he gets free care at a hospital or emergency room, the most expensive ways to get medical care. That cost is passed on to those who can pay or who have insurance and it is passed on in higher costs for care. Uninsured people wait for medical care until they are sicker and instead of some medicine they need expensive surgery. That is passed on to those who pay.

If the person has the ACA his medical care is still being paid but at a lower cost. Wouldn't it make sense to have those who are ineligible signed up which will save money?

Fact: Perry signed a bill that cut Texas funding for thier own border security

Fact: Since he called up the Guard the State of Texas has to pay for them.

Fact: The cost is estimated at $12Million per month.

joco, there are 1000s of anchor babies in the US. the instant they are born, mother & baby get beneifits. (nurse says:"congradulations your baby is a citizen", "next'!) one hospital in texas does 50 delieveries per day. (source NYtimes). there are several hundred hospitals near borders, do the math. per week per month per year. they have been coming for years in the 9th month (they have addtional children when they get settled). the migrants will be taken care of as they have been for years. there are 100s of 1000s of illegals on welfare in boston, new york, jersey, phili, & across the US. there are 300 "special interest" groups for hispanics alone. they over ride the written laws. the arabs have their groups too. these are the 2 most influencial groups in the U.S. in some states illegals can serve on juries (w/an interpreter). they also get free college as well in some places. you cant blame them for coming, its not a judgement call. our veterans are left to die if dependent on the VA, some homeless. there is no room in the budget for them. some people are more equal than others.

Any child born in the U.S, is an American citizen, Only the legal resident or U.S. citizen is eligible for any government benefits.

Illegals are not receiving federal welfare anywhere. Maybe Boston has its own programs for the undocumented but they are not using federal monies.

No illegal gets free college. Texas offers or did offer state tuition to illegals in Texas so they did not have to pay the higher out of state tuition. Illegals who are at the top of their high school class can receive scholarships. Wouldn't you rather have people educated than with no education and the only way they can support themselves is as criminals?

The children crossing the border now are refugees escaping violence and crime.

Mexicans have been leaving the U.S. since 2008 when the U.S. economy crashed. The amount of Mexicans entering the U.S. is zero right now.

http://www.pewhispanic.org/2012/04/23/net-migration-from-mexico-falls-to-zero-and-perhaps-less/

The largest wave of immigration in history from a single country to the United States has come to a standstill. After four decades that brought 12 million current immigrants—most of whom came illegally—the net migration flow from Mexico to the United States has stopped and may have reversed, according to a new analysis of government data from both countries by the Pew Hispanic Center, a project of the Pew Research Center.
The standstill appears to be the result of many factors, including the weakened U.S. job and housing construction markets, heightened border enforcement, a rise in deportations, the growing dangers associated with illegal border crossings, the long-term decline in Mexico’s birth rates and broader economic conditions in Mexico.

Veterans without insurance can seek out emergency room care just like anyone else. They are not forced to rely only on the VA. They can also sign up for the ACA.

The problems with the VA are not related to illegals.

What seems to be lost in all this discussion is what is happening to the CHILDREN. No matter who is right and who is wrong ... no matter whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, a Mexican or an Ex-pat .... these children need to be taken care of until the problem can be resolved. The Adults need to get together and quit all the infighting and pass laws that will take care of the problems without any thought of who gets the credit. In the meantime, it makes me very sick at my stomach and ashamed of the people that are getting the most face time and air time that are so intolerant that they are treating these children in dispicable ways. Most of us would not treat street dogs and cats in the manner that these people are treating children.

hookemhorns, i havnt mentioned 95% of what i know because we are not allowed to do a political thread. they are letting us, but once i get started it will be locked. i mentioned col. allen wests site, there is an amazing video from the head of border control. also posted on twitter 2 days ago. NBC finally mentioned the health crisis. (after this was covered up for a month. btw, there were outbreaks for several years in georgia ect but let that go). regional news does a better job than major. alternate news is the best. (joco, if a baby gets welfare the mother has to as well. shes not going to go hungry. she also gets housing in the projects EBT cards. there are 1000s families w/8 children on welfare expecially from the middle east. theres are worlds besides the coverup stuff you cut&paste. 20% of the latest flood of migrants ARE mexicans, rest c. amer. some escaping violence, most no. only 25% under 18. they are not covered by the UN for refugee status- these countries are not in the UN agreement. this is not the same as the vietnese). back to hookem, this forum is a leftleaning meainstream crowd. this is not the place to bring up these issues in the way you or i want too. US is right behind europe, this is a global project. the UN is now trying to intervene to keep theflow moving. (they also tried in israel w/the sudan people). bottom line: if you live in a good neighborhood in the US none of this affects you. in boston they are dispersing the illegals into the less affluenent areas. areas which were industrial working class. they have been flying them into logan for a while. (upstate NY is another place they are flying them too).

hookem, i have some good online mags to recommend, should i PM you? im not bragging but i do correspond w/several journalists who write for these mags, & speak @ public events. yes you are correct about honduras. luke: no one blaming the little children. unfortunalty many arebeing sent to the centers on planes very ill. high fevers, couchs, spitting blood, infections. they also were accomplied by "escorts" who are questionable, & they need counseling. they are being bussed/ flown to facilities, most do not have family here. that was another media cover up. the churches are helping, some will be in foster care or adopted thru church or agencies.

hookem, these are rural people the poorest of the poor, few families have that kind of cash. someone else is paying but im not saying. i am skirting around w/my best benign media speak. the detention centers are mostly horrible, have seen many photos. so many people crammed together. there was one train they called the death train, the one where the people (no not all kids, like 40yr old men) rode on top (see the photos looks like india). a child had a leg cut off, the mother lost her arm. next: costs $50,000 usd for a pakistani to be smuggled in. those folks pay for themselves, business as usual. there is big $$ to be made, more than the drug trade. this humanitarian crisis is a cover distraction for the real crisis. wish andrew brietbart were around. besides the little kids, this is treason. one of the people behind this is george soros who has started & funded so many related projects like the open society.

bennie, he is saying that the children are being "well cared for" contrary to some opinions. And, the American President wants another 3.7 billion US Tax Dollars to even treat them better. One thing for sure, these children and families pay from $3,500 USD to $10, 500 USD to get "brought to the Border". Sound like poor children to you? Anyone ever consider what 3.7 billion USD would do for the poor in the US? And, only those who are hardworking US Citizens get to pay for it, not those who are on government assistance. They still get their ride taken care of. :(

The money the administration is asking for is for more detention centers, judges and enforcement officers. The law is that any illegal who is not from a contiguous country (Mexico and Canada) must have a hearing. Unlike Mexicans and Canadians they cannot be immediately deported.

People will sell everything they have to protect their children and these poor people think they are sending their children to safety. These are people without TVs, radios, the internet. They rely on what the coyotes tell them and the coyotes tell them what they want to hear, that their kids will be safe and have a future. They don't pay the coyotes all the money up front. They can pay it out and pitifully many are paying after their kids didn't make it and the parents will never know what happened to them.

The US government says most of these illegals are from those "other 3 countries" and that is true, when you add the totals. What they are not telling us is that the country with the second most illegal children is Mexico. Just goes to show you can use statistics to show basically what you want, or do not want, in this case. :(

http://www.pewresear...ss-than-a-year/

Yes, Mexicans are the largest group of illegal residents so naturally they will have the largest amount of illegal children who are not U.S. born.

Asians have replaced Hispanics as the largest population to immigrate to the U.S.

th_Asianimmigration_zps64a361ba.png

But in the mid-2000s, the surge began to ebb. Demographers cite several factors: A long decline in the birthrate in Mexico meant there were fewer young Mexicans seeking jobs north of the border. Improvement in the Mexican economy meant there were better opportunities closer to home. Tightened border security and increased deportations likely also played a role.
Then the recession hit, and turned a gradual decline into a steep drop. Construction jobs, a major source of employment for Mexican migrants, all but disappeared, and many other jobs also became scarce. As a result, immigration slowed, and many Mexicans living in the U.S. went home. By 2010, net migration from Mexico — the number of immigrants minus the number of emigrants — had fallen roughly to zero, and may even have turned negative, according to the Pew Research Center.

Mexican sources:

http://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/frequently-requested-statistics-immigrants-and-immigration-united-states#4

According to Mexico's National Survey of Occupations and Employment (Encuesta Nacional de Ocupación y Empleo or ENOE), the emigration rate from Mexico has remained relatively steady over the past three years, after a drop in 2007 following the start of the recession in the United States and around the world. In fall 2009, 5.4 migrants per 1,000 residents of Mexico left for the United States; in fall 2010 that rate declined to 3.3 per 1,000. In fall 2011, it increased to 3.8 per 1,000, but dropped again in 2012 to its 2010 rate of 3.3 per 1,000 Mexico residents.
The immigration rate to Mexico (i.e., the number of people who move to Mexico from abroad, who are overwhelmingly return migrants) has entered a moderate decline, dropping from 3.7 per 1,000 residents in fall 2008 to 2.1 per 1,000 in fall 2012.

there were ammesty annoucments on TV/radio news outlets (central america). there were advertisiments posted on buses/ public places. there were ads for escort services (for minors & special needs). busses contracted last fall to pick up people @ the border. detention centers were built in 2006 for emergencies & detaniee. (source NYtimes '06 or 07). they remained empty untill recently. i have no personal conclusion or projection on the last issue, i had seen the link for that artical recently. john kerry was down in mexico right before the big surge. the president is doing what he is supposed to do. all thes past years our govt was repeating "the order is secure". (tell a lie enough times, the peoole will believe it). gee, when have govts NOT lied? (from oct 13-may 14 close to 70,000 came through). the goverment media complex is an insult. obama deports 30 people on a plane & that news. (they werent even criminals, those get to stay). a teen is reunited w/her family, filmed @airport- on the news the weeping & hugging, as if thats the norm. hookemhorns, ofcause central america is corrupt. these are the words most dangerous countries in back of nigeria. why would that be a secret? of cause the US is corrupt. what else is new? the president is just doing what he is supposed too, as the others were. politicans work for others higher up. hes a fall guy. things start as a leak then a flood then a hurricane than the tsumai. unfortunatly there is a world govt (UN) which seems to put the heat on. everything is changing. more to come this is just the beginning. get the popcorn.

Very true. The big businesses of the USA drive much of US foreign policies to benefit big corporations. Consider how the US rammed through NAFTA-mandated dumping of US corn at artificially low prices roughly ½ of market prices. Since 1993 US taxpayers have paid between $4 billion -$5 billion a year to American big Ag companies to dump US corn onto Mexican markets at far below market prices ($2.20 a bushel) - putting 1.5 million Mexican corn farm families out of business with the $84 billion paid by American taxpayers. These 1.5 million Mexican corn farm family bankruptcies have been - directly caused by US taxpayer subsidies - via mandated dumping and special export subsidies - economically wrecking rural Mexican communities across Mexico => creating an estimated 7 million Mexicans illegally immigrating to the USA.

The alliance of US Govt in bed with big business will continue to reward big business at the expense of Central American economies until Americans decide to hold their leaders accountable. Does anyone here support US spending $84 billion to directly put put Mexican corn farmers out of business?

If you want to reduce illegal immigration by rural Mexicans, then stop spending $4 billion of US taxpayer $$ a year to dump artificially cheap US corn onto Mexican markets. Hold the responsible parties, responsible.

U.S. is the most generous of all countries. (except if you are a vet & need the hospital or a legal immigrant waiting for papers). dont know about canada. i hear the UK is good w/ benefits for 3 worlders. but they focus on middle east/africa not hispanic. the european union is doing what it does & accomplishing its job. as for the corps, well.....they do rule. dont know anything about corn, but corporations give me the creeps. dont agree w/most of snowyos post. central americans are not the only group who is being placed in the US. bennie says: its a global project based upon cloward piven stategy, & many other things. somehow having a "north american union" will serve someone or some entity well. leave it @ that. hookem, ofcause the US is far superior to central america, united arab emrites, africa. we were always exceptional, w/high standards. unless you are bill ayers how can anyone dissagree w/that? IMO, that exceptionalism has been dissapearing. tune in later.

"if the US is such a "bad" country, why are so many trying to get there?" => cute, but off target.

The USA is a good country - whose leaders do some very bad things to other countries - mutually exclusive things.

When US leaders do the same destructive things that ruin Mexican farm families, over and over for 20 years, when should people accept responsibility for what is done with their tax $$ ?

The US taxpayers spent $84 billion to pay American big Ag businesses to ruin Mexican farmers between 1993 - 2014. Is that magically somehow a good thing? :o

There really is no big mystery of why 7 million Mexicans illegally immigrated to the USA:

When US taxpayer spending directly puts 1.5 million Mexican farm families into bankruptcy - ruining local rural communities' economies - the Mexicans gotta move - or starve. :017:

It is the U.S. drug appetite that funds the Mexican and Central American cartels. Throw in SA also.
