LaForresta Hi rise condos

The one next to Coke has resumed, very slowly, to build again. They had lost their permit and returned deposits made on their condos. The Radisson has had to start paying their buyers interest as they have not finished on time. The loud parties are not at the marina but at an evento place not too far to the east of the marina and Real de Chapala.They usually have fireworks included with the loud music.

A possible reason why the aforementioned projects fell behind is because of a shortage of skilled workers, ones that are experience at working at "high" levels. I think this project is experience the same problem.

As lots are getting scarce I think we can expect more hi ride and or multi level dwellings. The elephant in the room is the infrastructure to support his development.

A smart authority would be building the roads etc to accommodate and encourage responsible construction and zoning...silly me I am dreaming...maybe Telsa can help...but really there is no shortage of experience Gringo engineers, just a shortage of "smart"  listens...Telsa try talking with Tod Stong, a very smart engineer who has been working with local ,state and federal governments, bless his heart what he has accomplished he is worthy of becoming a Saint

No shortage of workers.  There are many experienced high rise workers in nearby Guadalajara who can be hired to work here.  

Problem with La Floresta is that the work was stopped due to legal action as the building exceeded the height (stories) in permit.  Exhaustive and lengthy court action included an injunction against the work proceeding for about 2 years.  This was settled in late 2021 with the developers being forced to remove the top 3 floors.  See story here.    http://theguadalajarareporter.net/index.php/news/news/lake-chapala/57270-conflict-over-la-floresta-high-rise-settled

The Radisson is not a condo, it's a condo-hotel.  The focus is on daily rentals operated by the hotel which gets management fees and reimbursements for  costs before any rental proceeds go to the buyer.  Condo-hotel unit owners are only allowed to use their unit for x weeks a year; if they want to use it longer they have to pay to do so.  Many failed in US as the ROI numbers as advertised rarely work out unless situated in an area with nearly-full rental capacity, not seasonal or weekend traffic, which is more common here. 

The building in SAT appears to be operating on a build-as-we-sell plan.  Not that unusual for Mexico.

Also, it memory serves, there were some serious infrastructure issues with the building by Coco-Cola. The pylons weren't deep enough for the weight of the proposed structure. Sure hope that was fixed and not just glossed over.

With respect there is a shortage of (good) workers , period, both here and in Guadalajara, with both locations "booming".... as the local Ajijic highway traffic confirms . With limited building space becoming less and less, the alternative way is up and up. There are many 3/4 high floors units already built or being built in Ajijic, good workers are becoming scarce and a rare commodity!!!
