Fred Habacht
We have been having problems with receiving Informa medical reports and now getting a simple factura after a visit to a specialist. Without this "annoying" paperwork our insurance company will not reimburse for the claim. Our issues is with doctors that visit the system and not the primary doctor. Requests for help have been slow to zero results. I appreciate the convenience of a local source for professional medical help but is there an alternative locally?
happyjillin
Lety always gives us a receipt describing the procedure when we pay her as we need that for CDN income tax refund. Will your insurance company not accept that?
bmh
my insurrance only accept recibo de honorarios or facturas, period so I sympathize because getting real factura is very time consuming..
mexijims1
In my visits to Quality Care, Lety usually says you need to go through the doctor to provide you with a factura. I have received facturas from two different QC docs and had to receive them from their assistants in their Guadalajara offices. Poor Lety is just too darn busy to manage the factura process.
sm1mex
I never have problems from facturas from Quality Care. Ask the Dr. at the time of your visit to contact their factura person to send it to you. It is sent immediately when the Dr. request it. No problema. 1
sm1mex
Perhaps seek Ribera hospital Drs. To help you with facturas.
JKL
Are there any local doctors (in Ajijic) that will bill the insurance direct? I realize it may depend on the type insurance you have, so specifically Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee.
gringal
Isn't the point finding the best doctor, not the easiest billing ???🙃
bmh
Each dr is autonomous so it is different with each dr. Some are good with paperwork and slme are not. Talk to thr dr directly and if it is too diffkcult change dr.
Eric Blair
IMO, simply say after the visit, you will pay when you are given the factura you need.

I hope all patients have established the price before hand and does that include with or without a factura..why leave yourself to nasty surprises?? bmh
There is a sign at the office that says you must ask for the factura before the visit.

Unless the rules have changed, you are not required to forward your medical receipts to the government with your return; just keep them on file in case you are audited. I have been doing this for many years now, and have never had a problem.
bmh
I have AXA and you need a fatura or recibo de honorario for doctors which is the same as a factura.

Don't think there is a blue cross program here in Mexico so they can't 'bill the insurance direct'. Make sure you have cash to pay and ask for a factura. When asking for a factura they will need you name, address, RFC #, email address and date of birth.

RickS
Well, there has been previous discussions here where a Poster said that (SAT?) hospital did in fact publicize and did bill their Medicare Advantage insurance provider. Many of us reacted to that statement with skepticism but the Poster was sure about his/her comment. In fact there was a sign outside the offices that they would bill your NOB insurance. bmh
if you are here as a tourist, no?
RickS
Well the answer should be 'si', but me thinks that they are/were doing it for folks who are actually living short or long term at Lakeside but forgetting to tell their insurance company about this.... Or least that is what it smells like.
