tomgates
The current rule for a covid test 1 day before a flight to US expires on March 16. The CDC just said today that the mask order for airline travel and airports is extended to April 16.

If you are arriving to the United States via one or more connecting flights, your test must be done in the one (1) day before the first flight in your itinerary, but only if the connecting flights were booked as a single passenger booking with a final destination in the United States and any layovers no longer than 24 hours. If your connecting flight to the United States was booked separately or a layover in your itinerary lasts longer than 24 hours, or your travel is disrupted and you leave the airport, you will need to get tested within the one (1) day before your flight that arrives in the United States. jrod
Mostlylost, Thanks for the source but I see nothing that says regs change on March 16 regarding requirements for a negative Covid test one day prior to departure, as TomGates indicated, above. That's what I'm looking for: some confirmation of an upcoming regulatory change to the current testing requirement.

The Transportation Security Administration is extending the current mandate for mask use on public transportation and in transportation hubs through April 18. The mandate had been set to expire on March 18.

If it is not on the CDC website nor the Department of State travel website what other official source could there be?

But I am also well aware that the unvaccinated are far more likely to contract and spread Covid.

No testing requirement Many thousands of people cross daily to the USA to their jobs or for business purposes, then return to Mexico the same day, and visa versa. Requiring testing would be almost impossible. https://www.dhs.gov/news/2021/10/29/fact-sheet-guidance-travelers-enter-us-land-ports-entry-and-ferry-terminals
Mitch
The unvaccinated are not more likely to contract Covid, they are more likely to become more seriously ill. Also when the unvaccinated get Covid they do not shed the virus any more than a vaccinated individual. 1
econ man
1 hour ago, Mitch said: The unvaccinated are not more likely to contract Covid, Just to play devil's advocate, I've seen no info to back that up. Other words no stats that show any data about people who have been vaccinated, exposed to Covid and didn't get sick. I know of no way that could be tracked, other than hypothetically. Vaccination guarantees nothing, but stats show that the vaccinated, as you said, are less likely to become seriously ill, hospitalized, and die.
