CT Scan

Recommended Posts

I rather not go into GDL and thought about the san Antonio Hospital/ I have heard stories bad and good about the MRI and it being old and issues with the radiologist who reads the scans. How About the CT scan machine? I am getting conflicting prices. I only need a scan on my kidneys. They set me to a desk and behind it looked like a high school kid was sitting, She looked on the computer said it was 4100 pesos. Got me a printout. Tried to double-check because of what I have read, so far , nothing. ANy help would be appreciated

Of course, I would never really want a colonoscopy either. If you want gold medal results and diagnosis that means Banuelos in Guadalajara. Especially for kidneys, heart and liver. Eye,nose and throat is another Guadalajara specialist. Hospital San Antonio is good for exrays only - at this time anyways.

My CAT  AND MRI'S were just fine at SATH according to my doctors and so where the write ups by the Radiologists. No need to go through the hassle of going to Guadalajara. Anyone under 40 looks like a high school kid to me.-SNORK!

May I ask what the CT scan cost? And di you have a dye injected? Thank you kindly

Well, we have had radiological procedures at both Banuelos and SAH. Banuelos is vastly superior. Though a trip to Guadalajara is stressful, and requires at !east one day rest to get over it.

This is an add on. I was prescribed a kidney scan by Dr. Hugo, a internal medicine and kidney specialist at Quality Care. I believe he is also head Nephrologist at SAH. The young technician, no longer there, or his ham handed oreplacement, refused to do a contrast. Too dangerous he said, the prescribing doctor had to actually attend the procedure. The technician telephoned the doctor and he told him.to just do it. He still refused. The doctor said he was getting mixed up about iodine dyes that were widespread 30 years ago. Guess where he sends patients now? Banue!os.

Thank you. I have a call into them

Try RMC on the libramiento. I would run hard and fast from anything with HSA with very, very good reasons.

And some of us who have had excellent, even life saving treatment at HSAT would disagree with you and avoid RMC. My Cardio,Gastro,Surgeon and GP all have privileges to practice there and both my Orthos are affiliated to it. It's 5 minutes from my house by ambulance which I've had to use twice. We are fortunate to have a facility like HSAT right here and they are constantly adding additional services. There are some affiliated drs. there I  refuse to have near me but that applies to drs. from elsewhere too and is a common situation around the globe ,ain't it.

And while I'm truly glad you've managed to get good service there, we've had terrible service too many times to ever go back...including one life-or-death situation. Fortunately, there are other choices.

(Edited to add this:) I would also like to mention that there are some absolutely top-notch hospitals in Guadalajara if the situation permits. While we don't always have a choice, if we do and it's complicated, it's nice to know that we have some world-class providers within range.
