Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Left Bias sources.

Overall, we rate Jacobin Magazine, Left Biased based on story selection and editorial positions that always favor the Democratic Socialist Left. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing of information and a clean fact check record.

Analysis / Bias
In review, Jacobin is a well-written quarterly magazine and website that publishes news from a strongly left-leaning perspective. There is moderate to the strong use of loaded emotional language such as this: Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez Pick a Fight With the Loan Sharks. This article, like most on Jacobin, is properly sourced to a variety of High factual sources. Although Jacobin harshly criticizes President Trump, they also frequently criticize centrist Democrats often described as corporate and establishment Democrats: Trump’s Sadism — and Democrats’ Accomodationism. Again, this article may contain loaded language, but it is properly sourced to only High factual sources. Editorially, all stories favor the Democratic Socialist left.

Jacobin has received praise from notable figures such as Noam Chomsky, who states they are “a bright light in dark times.” They have also faced criticism from free-market advocates, Reason Magazine.

Fair enough. I'll presume everyone can parse the fig leaf from the prostate there.

Was surprised to read that he was still driving at the age of 70 years old (that is according to the age listed in the article). Sorry this happened. On another note, I just happened to notice that your Prime Minister is in quarantine as he has contracted COVID (is this not the second time ?)

????? Why Americans think this is something clever or funny to say has always bamboozled me. It's just stupid.

Why do something like 80% live within 50-100 miles of the US border? Just a coincidence?

Yes but many are also cross border workers.

Many? How many? A tiny fraction.

What, you think they live there so they can be as close as possible to the US and have some burning desire to be American?

What an absurd and pointless question.

That's like asking why so many people live in NYC. They must want  to be close to Canada, huh? They all probably wish they were Canadian?

Wrong,in the overall scheme of things hardly any. You have zilch experience and make such a grossly wrong statement? I no longer have any experience with Things Swiss so would not know how many of it's population work in it's border countries. I have the discipline to not make stupid posts about things I know nothing about.

I highly doubt that there are many cross border workers in Canada. They would have to pay Uncle Sam taxes and everybody is wary of the long arm of Uncle Sam. Do some googling for yourself Honeybee.

Never mind. I did it for you. And none of this refers to "cross border workers" aka people who live in Canada and work in the U.S. although it does touch with regards to online work.

Funny, I lived in St Catharines, Ontario for 11 years. Will get back to this post and respond in detail. But at the moment, I have a company from Guadalajara currently installing awnings on 2 of my patios.

TRY to keep up and / or at least be accurate.

He (the Prime Minister) did not "contract Covid", he merely tested positive due to a close contact.    Was not sick or symptomatic as he is fully vaxxed and boosted.    And he did the right thing, quarantined for the full time required, and was back in Parliament last night for the night session where he (correctly) denounced the far right morons who are occupying the downtown Ottawa streets in their illegally parked trucks while the true heroes of their profession are fully vaxxed (90% or more are), transporting needed goods domestically and cross-border, and are fully supported by both the provincial and national trucking associations who also clearly denounce these illegal actions and blockades / occupations.

So there is a difference between testing positive and having covid. (kind of like having HIV but not AIDS).

Anyway good luck since a lot of your food comes from the US and Mexico and looking at the news lately it looks like your only option is to send the army in.😒

Wow, what's that supposed to be, a threat or intimidation?    Pretty weak and pathetic response.

Don't worry, HoneyBee sweetie, food and butterflies will still cross the border no matter what the far right morons do or try to do about it.

Hey happyjillin, I decided not to pursue this debate as after 11 years have figured out your feelings towards your southern neighbors. But I asked the Swiss government to halt all sells of chocolate to Canada as the going says "chocolate is never hard but a day without chocolate that is hard". 😊

The reason 80% of Canadians live and work within 50-100 miles of the US border is because those 80% of Canadians are pharmacists who are selling insulin to obese Americans at $12/dose instead of $100/dose.

Believe it or not, Canada is not dependent on Switzerland for chocolate. There are some great handmade gourmet chocolate shops in Canada.

Of course cacao doesn't grow in Canada, but it doesn't grow in Switzerland, either.
