HoneyBee
1 hour ago, Ferret said: It's not about YOU Mainecoons, it's about protecting OTHER PEOPLE FROM GETTING IT. If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. Facts: on December 20th, 2021 the reported stats (which we know are lowball)... the second set is from YESTERDAY. nacional 14,724, jalisco 509, chapala 0, jocotepec 0, ixtlahuacan 1, tuxcueca 0 and tizapan 0. nacional 147,514, jalisco 5,493, chapala 6, jocotepec 8, ixtlahuacan 11, tuxcueca 0 and tizapan 0. Omicron is VERY contagious. IF you have been vaccinated or have natural immunity and have been boosted, YOU, personally, MAY not be affected as badly if you catch it. However, there are people who are more susceptible because they have underlying health issues or whose underlying health issues prevented them from being vaccinated. Please consider THEM in your self righteous tirades. I think to say "if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem" is kind of scary 😒

Particularly applies to all the dead ones, the ones that have died directly from Covid and the ones who can't get critical needed health care procedures because the hospitals are maxxed out, primarily due to the unvaxxed. 1 2

RickS
The good news is that MOST of us here know BS when we see/read it. Reacting to BS is not going to change the fact that most BS'ers are just that.... full of BS. And will keep on spouting it over and over because it is all they know to do when confronted with the truth. 1
MtnMama
Please also remember that Covid is not either a mild flu-like few days or death. MC and family all had mostly asymptomatic or mild cases, took a since debunked "cure" and were fine. How easy to forget the 50% or so who are sick, very sick or hospitalized with serious symptoms. Or the so-called Long-Covid patients who are sick for many months. Even fairly mild cases can cause long term health issues for lungs, kidneys, heart and neurological. Much more real and serious than the very occasional side effects for the vaccine. 2
Kiko
The expats I know who were not vaccinated and acquired Covid were relying on Ivermectin. Two survived but now have Long Covid symptoms. They are cognitive impaired to the point they do not leave their homes.

virgo lady
Unvaccinated patients make up two-thirds of ICU beds in Italy, health minister says From CNN's Livia Borghese Two-thirds of the intensive care unit beds in Italy are currently occupied by Covid-19 patients not vaccinated against the virus, Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza said on Monday. “Just over 10% of people over 12 years remain unvaccinated. Yet this 10%, a small minority, occupies two-thirds of the beds in intensive care and 50% of the beds in the medical area,” Speranza said at a news conference. Italy on Wednesday made vaccination against Covid-19 mandatory for people age 50 and over. The new vaccination measure aims to reduce the number of unvaccinated people, Speranza said Monday, stressing to citizens that it’s “a choice based on full and complete scientific evidence.” Two days after the government announced the new measure, Italy registered a threefold increase of the vaccines administered daily to those age 50 and older, the vaccination campaign commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo said in a statement Saturday.

Ferret
Alfaro has been doing a very good job at keeping people in Jalisco safe. This latest decree will help to secure the safety of the working staff in restaurants AND the people who dine there. I sincerely hope you offer a bribe and that it lands you in jail.

Mainecoons
I don't understand the rancor of the jabees here. Y'all should be filled with joy. Not only can you now get FOUR jabs, your "friends" at Pfizer have announced you'll soon be able to get a new jab just for Omicron. That should be worth another 2-3 jabs by itself. With any luck, a new version of covid will be announced in the Spring and it will be good for 2-3 more jabs. By summer ya'll should resemble human pincushions. Unless you die from heart inflammation, blood clots, stroke, or lots of other stuff they don't want you to notice. My advice to the serial jabees is to just make sure your affairs are all in order. 3
Ferret
Sigh. We really don't want any more vaccinations. In a perfect world, EVERYONE would only have to get one set of vaccinations to see this virus in the rear view mirror. It's the anti-vaxxers who are keeping this virus going and mutating. 1 4
