Chinese vaccines do not control Omicron

Unfortunately the present vaccines do not seem to be having that controlling effect. For most of the population they seem to mitigate the illness, rather than prevent it.

And let us thank the stars that the vast majority are doing the responsible thing and getting vaccinated, to either "mitigate" illness and hospitalization or prevent illness & hospitalization.      Otherwise we'd be in really deep S***.     We owe it to each other, to society, and to the health care workers and system.

Have a nice walk home, bozos.

(Globe & Mail, today)

Air Transat says passengers who were partying maskless on a recent Sunwing flight from Montreal to Mexico will not be allowed on its planes as they attempt to return to Canada.

The airline said on Twitter today the “disruptive passengers” from the Sunwing flight are trying to return home on Air Transat flights, but they will be denied boarding based on the company’s obligation to ensure passenger and crew safety.

Flight attendants call for better COVID-19 protections following maskless Sunwing party flight

Videos of the Dec. 30 Sunwing private charter flight shared on social media show passengers not wearing masks as they gather in close proximity, drinking alcohol and vaping in the aisle and on seats.

Sunwing cancelled the group’s return flight from Cancun scheduled for today, saying the unruly behaviour had contravened several Canadian Aviation Regulations as well as public health rules.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today called the passengers’ conduct irresponsible and a “slap in the face” to everyone who has been following public health restrictions.

Transport Canada said Tuesday it was launching an investigation into the matter, with passengers who violated the department’s regulations facing fines of up to $5,000 per offence.

So, are we now getting set up to "booster" the entire World every 6 months, as the effectiveness of these vaccines wanes? Just wondering how that will play out.

No one stated the  booster shots will be needed every 6 months. At least no one directly involved. It will play out when it plays out. Nobody knows.

JERUSALEM, Jan 4 (Reuters) - A fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine boosts antibodies five-fold a week after the shot is administered, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said on Tuesday, citing preliminary findings of an Israeli study.

"A week into the fourth dose, we know to a higher degree of certainty that the fourth dose is safe," Bennett said at Sheba Medical Center, which is giving second booster shots in a trial among its staff amid a nationwide surge in Omicron variant infections.

"The second piece of news: We know that a week after administration of a fourth dose, we see a five-fold increase in the number of antibodies in the vaccinated person," he told reporters.

"This most likely means a significant increase against infection and ... hospitalisation and (severe) symptoms," Bennett said in English.

Israel has played a leading role in studying the effects of COVID-19 vaccines, as the fastest country to roll out two-dose inoculations to a wide population a year ago and one of the first to give third shots as boosters.

It is now administering fourth doses to people over 60, health workers and immunocompromised patients."

They seem to be giving it to the right people, not everyone. But, still nothing about will it only be effective for 6 months. No one saying we won't be  giving boosters every 6 months. That is what I want to see. Until then, ....

I wonder how this compares to the one developed by the US Army?

As a hard science girl, I go to original sources, the actual clinical trials. There is so much interesting work going on all over the world, so I recommend www.trialsitenews.com, good for science people and laypeople, and global in scope.

It was the only site that fully mentioned the Ivermectin clinical trials done in Mexico, all by hospital systems in Aguascalientes, Tlaxcala, Chiapas (by ISSSTE), & Mexico City (by IMSS & several other hospital systems), with spectacular results.

Updates on all the vax types (true vaccines like Novavax and experimental genomic mRna types, and adenovirus types), are there. Links to all original source documents are there, including studies on masking. Great resource.

Natural immunity is great...perhaps the only good thing that comes from getting Covid.  But the fact remains that many folks have already gotten Covid more than once.  Nothing is a guarantee just like the vaccines that don't promise immunity but, since the start, have only promised reduction in transmission and symptoms including death.

I still don't understand how this has become so political.  It never was for most other vaccination/inoculation programs that have been in place for several generations.  It seems like a reflection on the times we live in more than a reasoned response to a serious problem.

Other vaccines actually work to prevent one from getting and spreading the disease.  This one does not.  The latest claim is it makes the disease less severe.  It used to be claimed it actually worked and you could ditch the face diapers and get back to living normally.

What will the next claim be?

We both get annual flu shots and periodic pneumonia shots.  They work, we haven't gotten either for a decade or more.  None of them require such frequent jabbing.  Each time one is jabbed the potential for serious side effects is there.

A vaccine that doesn't last 6 months and doesn't stop one getting and passing around a disease is not much of a vaccine, particularly when it is also one that exceeds all other previous vaccines in levels of side effects and those just keep piling up as there is more and more investigation of same.

Now we are finding that many of the hospitalizations are WITH covid, not because of it.  We are finding the deaths are accompanied by multiple co morbidities.  We are finding that indeed there are treatment options.  These have been used with great success in my own family and in others I know.

I see now in the reports even in the covid pushing MSM that there is a growing expectation this Omicron spike will be short lived and very seasonal like colds and flu.  If true, this group may have to look for something else to obsess on.

I suggest pot holes.  They are far more enduring here Lakeside.  :D

You’ve been fighting this vaccine since it started, before we even had results. Your credibility is long gone. It’s useless to argue with you. Your use of baseless and empty sources of information causes us to question your  reasoning.

Of course he has jreboll. But I don't question his 'reasoning' if one understands the definition of Reason:

Reason is the capacity of consciously applying logic by drawing conclusions from new or existing information, with the aim of seeking the truth.

Logic and truth being the operative words....

Only problem is.... how accurate is the data?  How many thousands actually never get reported but actually HAVE the virus? Double/Triple these numbers?

Of course the same is true everywhere. There has to be a magnitude of under-reporting worldwide.
