It appears they are constructing a bypass or widening of that two lane part as you go into the canyon. That's always tedious because of the trucks, it is hard to pass them. Your best bet is driving it on Sundays. Seems to be taking a very long time to finish that new road. Gracias, but we will be using it on jan 3 and 8 to get to and then back from Cuixmala. Concerned more about 3rd as check in is at 3pm and we will be leaving Chapala @ 8am.
