Chapala DMV inflation

Today went to the DMV in chapala  to add my name to the title of our 2016 car and were told it would  be  appropriately  8000. Pesos I about passed out those are higher  than in Chicago,  needless to say we didn't  go ahead but I am amazed at the fee for this simple  service, still shaking  my head ⚠️

Since you can't pay for anything at the dmv anyway, I  would go to the recaudador on Degollado  and inquire there. 

That's  were we went I just call it the DMV. I will return  next week to check  for positive, honestly  I was blown away

In my mind this should be way cheaper...but what does logic have to do with it anyway!!!

Yes,   I just want to add a person to the ownership of the vehicle we are  not selling the vehicle  just putting  my name on the title, I will go back this next week  and see if the fellow  understands  what we are wanting  to  do. Hopefully  we misunderstood  each other. Thanks for your responses

I suspect that the current owner must sell the car to the two new owners; even if one remains one of the owners.
