canmex
Must travel by air to Canada on short notice. I read "Rapid antigen tests aren't accepted." and think only that is done at Walmart. My question is where can one get tested? How long does it take to get results. I leave Tuesday 7Dec for PV then fly to Canada on 8th Dec. Also any idea how much the test costs. Thanks in advance

Maybe others will chime in with recent test locations. Also available at airport parking garage but go 40 hours before your flight

Canada has announced new stricter requirements for anyone, including Canadians (who have more rights in this area than others) as of today. Up until today, there was a gov't form you filled in on line prior to flying... but even that is now different. Check with your airline ASAP, plus find a way to follow Canadian news as it's still in rapid state of flux. Omicron is the reason.
mudgirl
You are going to have to get tested at the airport when you arrive in Canada and isolate until you receive the results, so hope you're not in a svreaming rush to get somewhere when you arrive. Natasha
REALLY hoping you were vacc'd with "acceptable" brand..... Canada does not accept Sinovac or Cansino .... in which case that will open another whole world of hurt. Good luck with all.

That changed yesterday for Sinovac which is now OK, but Cansino still not accepted. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada Starting November 30 2021, the following COVID-19 vaccines authorized by the World Health Organization (WHO) will be accepted by the Government of Canada for travel: Bharat Biotech (Covaxin, BBV152 A, B, C) Sinopharm (Beijing) BBIBP-CorV (Vero Cells) Sinovac (CoronaVac, PiCoVacc) Vaccines not currently accepted Cansino (Convidecia, Ad5-nCoV) Gamaleya (Sputnik V, Gam-Covid-Vac) Vector Institute (EpiVacCorona)

EldonNova
The lab which is immediately behind the bus station in Chapala does PCR tests. I think they can turn around in 24 hours.

timjwilson
Sinovac was actually allowed by Canada Nov 20th, not that it makes any difference. https://www.chapala.com/webboard/index.php?/topic/92228-has-sinovac-been-accepted-for-entry-into-canada/page/3/#comment-708660

mudgirl
5 hours ago, Oatsie said: Yes... But I'm changing planes in DFW. If you are flying on to Canada, that's immaterial. You need the PCR test, and that will also be accepted in the US. It isn't that the US requires the antigen test as opposed to the PCR, it's that you don't need a PCR if you are only flying to the US.
