Covid antigen testing sites near Anzalduas International Bridge, Reynosa

We are driving up to McAllen soon and will need to get a covid test before we cross the border. Antigen is all we need. I have checked with the Christus Murguerza Hospital on Rt. 2 near the bridge and they do the testing but it takes 4 hours to get the results. Does anyone who has used this route know of any covid testing sites near the bridge that produce results quicker than that?

Before anyone suggests that we just go ahead and get tested in Ajijic, that is not possible for us. We will take at least two days to get to the border and with out a Mexican vax certificate, a US citizen will need a covid test within 24 hours of crossing. We have found it impossible to access our certificate on line even though we have both had 2 SinoVac shots.

Any suggestions of sites would be appreciated.

You should not need an online copy of a certificate if you have the original copies of your vaccination certificate you received when you were vaccinated.

According to the CDC Acceptable Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:

Documentation Type Examples

Verifiable records (digital or paper)Vaccination certificate with QR code1, digital pass via Smartphone application with QR code1 (e.g., United Kingdom National Health Service COVID Pass, European Union Digital COVID Certificate)

Non-verifiable paper records Printout of COVID-19 vaccination record or a COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued at national or subnational level or by an authorized vaccine provider (e.g., the CDC vaccination card)

Non-verifiable digital records Digital photos of vaccination card or record, downloaded vaccine record or vaccination certificate from official source (e.g., public health agency, government agency, or other authorized vaccine provider), or a mobile phone application without QR code1

1. The QR code in a verifiable vaccination record links to information confirming the credential was generated from an immunization record in an official database and is protected from tampering.

All forms of proof of COVID-19 vaccination must have

Personal identifiers (full name plus at least one other identifier such as date of birth or passport number) that match the personal identifiers on the passenger’s passport or other travel documents

Name of official source issuing the record (e.g., public health agency, government agency, or other authorized vaccine provider)

Vaccine manufacturer and date(s) of vaccination

@cookj5  Are you certain you (assuming you are a US citizen) need a test or even proof of vax, to return to US by LAND??

https://www.usa.gov/americans-abroad#item-34802

U.S. Citizens Returning to the U.S. by Land or Sea

U.S. citizens traveling to the U.S. by land or sea aren't required to get tested for COVID-19 or show their vaccination status before entering the U.S.  Check with the U.S. embassy travel fact sheets for Canada and Mexico to stay aware of updates to travel requirements. Also check the COVID-19 rules in the city or state where you are entering the U.S.

And here, https://mx.usembassy.gov/travel-restrictions-fact-sheet/

Q: What about U.S. citizens and dual nationals who live abroad, will they be able to cross?
A:  Yes, this action does not prevent U.S. citizens from returning home

And here, https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/local/us-mexico-border-reopening-what-you-need-to-know-san-diego-nonessential-travel/509-ade5cb78-c9b9-4eef-b099-e6a8cbaef098

These requirements do not apply to U.S. citizens, permanent residents (including those with commuter status), foreign-born individuals aged 17 or under, or foreign-born travelers engaged in activities deemed essential (including H1b and H2b visa holders).

What you've quoted applies to AIR travel or to LAND crossing by NON-US citizens.

Here's rule for US citizens returning by LAND (or sea),

Q: Do U.S. citizens need proof of vaccination to return to the U.S. via land POEs and ferry terminals?

A: Vaccination requirements do not apply to U.S. Citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, or anyone crossing for an essential reason.
