Mostlylost
Are you speaking of the INSABE hospital? Seguro Popular was done years ago.
Fred Habacht
Of course you are almost right...the building still says Segura Popular as does my Government booklet that records our shots and they have Bomberos and equipment at the same building .....but if it said Carne and gave shots I still would pass along the info. 2

sm1mex
Was the SP flu shot the quad strain?
RickS
Thanks for the public service announcement Fred. Everyone who knew exactly what clinic Fred was talking about raise you hand. I thought so!
Fred Habacht
It is the tri-strain. We were also given a pneumonia booster shot and was offered a tetanus booster but declined that. Now that I know the place doesn't exist, I probably won't return....even the doctors that I've known at that location probably weren't the real one's either. I guess that I was mostly lost! EldonNova
I went to Chapala this morning to the Centro de Salud. I believe it is on Calle Velasco about 3 blocks up from Madero. Had my flu shot in about 15 or 20 minutes. It may have been called Seguro Popular before when that org. existed, but not any more. But I did have my Seguro Popular booklet and they recorded the vaccination in it. Have no idea whether the vaccine is current or not. Did not recognize the number they recorded which was - V3H60. Mostlylost
The vaccine being used by the Mexican health system is Vaxigrip VAXIGRIP® [Inactivated Influenza Vaccine Trivalent Types A and B (Split Virion)] for intramuscular use, is a sterile suspension containing 3 strains of influenza virus. The type and amount of viral antigens contained in VAXIGRIP® conform to the current requirements of the World Health Organization (WHO).

MtnMama
Does anybody know if Chapala or SAT is also giving pneumonia booster shots? Have the flu shot but thought a pneumonia booster might be a good idea.

SAT said today they are out of their supply for this month. Expect some more in December. No idea Chapala. You do know they're good for 5 years?
