Mijo
Or unsliced smoked ham. Found a turkey at Walmart for $40.00 US. Too expensive.
Mostlylost
A 16 lb (6 3/4 kilos) frozen turkey in the US runs $30 right now. $40 here is probably a good price depending on the weight. Mexicans eat turkey at Christmas. Prices will be lower then for volume of sales.
AndyPanda
Puritan Poultry last year was twice as expensive as WalMart, at Christmas. They are also twice as expensive with chickens.
gringal
The relevant word here is "quality". There is no way I'd buy either beef or poultry at Walmart.

AndyPanda
Bachoco chicken at WalMart is packaged at the plant, not at Walmart. Same with brand-name turkeys. Regardless: buying poultry, however good, at Puritan Poultry is going to cost you.
Mostlylost
Frozen turkeys are packaged and frozen at the production plant. As long as they are kept frozen in transport and point of sale there is no problem. Walmart, Soriana, Mega, Costco etc. all have more than sufficient freezer facilities.
AndyPanda
I specifically said brand name poultry, because Walmart does actually cut up old pre-packaged birds and repackages them, often thawed. You will often find turkey legs and thighs during the season, wrapped in plastic and ready to go off.
canmex87
Poncho's has frozen turkeys. Puritan Poultry isn't carrying them for Canadian Thanksgiving.
Bisbee Gal
@Mijo If looking for US 🦃-Day, you may want to check with Kenny and Kam who shop the abastos weekly and deliver locally. Here is snap of theirs. https://www.facebook.com/productskenny
