Mostlylost
For those without a compass the Libramiento runs from the north-east to south- west with the exception just west of El Dorado it turns south to the junction in front of Walmart. Between the fire station & the junction in front of Walmart in the morning there are one or two who use the jake brake every day about 6AM. The sound would be the same on South side Mission Chula Vista, Birds of Paradise, or El Dorado or on the North side Chula Vista Norte, The Terraces, Vista Alegre and Cielo Vista. For most of us it is less annoyance than the 6AM church bells, the barking dogs, and crazy all night roosters one finds in many areas.
happyjillin
I took the advice of a Mexican friend years ago-"don't listen". We even have an evento place 20 feet away. It really works and I have only used ear plugs when operating my jointer .
ibarra
We have lived in MX for 23 years, in 2 different States. We have found there are trade offs for everything. We have a 360 degree view of mountains and lake which more than makes up for the occasional noise from the highway. We haven't found a more perfect setting that has it "all" yet!

lakeside7
Yes of course there are trade off's where you chose to live..I guess I have this BIG aversion to barking dogs and for more there is no compromise.
HoneyBee
Just on a side note, US and Canadian trucks are outfitted with Jake brake silencers or mufflers. This was made mandatory sometime in the 80's. I think Mexican drivers probably like the attention it brings...☺️
