I've seen hurricanes jump the Yucatan before but never both the Yucatan and again cross Mexico to form in the Pacific. The effects here have been minimal but I also think we got lucky that this speedy lady did move so quickly... less than 24 hours to cross Mexico. That's impressive! CHILLIN Posted August 22, 2021 Report Share Posted August 22, 2021 Seems like our mountains repelled it to the south, another range turns it south of Puerto Vallarta, rockets through Barra de Navidad, gets to the ocean, doglegs North, then either builds or dissipates until it gets to land, with no more mountains.
