Maria19
Any one knows where / when we can get our second dose of Astra Zeneca vaccine ?
lcscats
Three months after you got the first dose if you are talking about getting it from Mexican government. That is what they said in spanish after you got the first shot. It is perfectly acceptable to get it three months out for AZ. I am going to US in August to get a Pfizer shot for my second shot. You can read about this online. Beware of old info. Piles of it on internet. See references to two different vaccines at Canadian government virus site. WideSky
It was reported in a press release " "Jalisco soon to apply second dose of vaccine to group of 50 to 59 June 30, 2021.- Before July 15, the application of the second dose of the vaccine against Covid 19 could begin for people aged 50 to 59 years and laggards [those 60+ who missed their second shot], then 10 days later begin with those between 30 and 39 years in their first dose, detailed the coordinator of Social Development of Jalisco, Barbara Casillas. "On [July] 12th we start with the second doses of those of 50+, after that, calculating about 10 days more or less, what we take, we could be in possibilities to start with the group of 30, it would be at the end or beginning of August, now those of 50 would already possibly start receiving, then we will finish with these first doses and then it will be the call that will be made". lcscats
So what vaccine are we talking about? Astra Zenica (oxford) is 12 weeks between shots and we got out first shot at start of June this is way too early for second shot.

Our second shots in Guad were just over 8 weeks.
Mostlylost
When the information is available it will be posted on the official webpage. Until then anyone is just guessing https://www.jalisco.gob.mx/es/gobierno/comunicados/vacunacion-en-jalisco
CHILLIN
The head of vaccines and infection control in Germany recommends a first shot of Astra, and a second shot of Phyzer or Moderna. Angela Merkel, the President of Germany, received a first shot of Astra, and a second shot of Moderna. You still might need a booster of Delta 1 vaccine later in the year when it becomes available. Everyone would be vaccinated ( who wants to be) like the USA if AMLO opened the sale of vaccines to the private sector.
AndyPanda
Great, so now we will have millions of people running around insisting that their first and second shots be different. Ridiculous.
Ferret
It's about as ridiculous as the millions of people running around insisting that they won't take ANY vaccine shots. Two shots of the same vaccine is just fine. They started with the optional different second shot because of the shortages. Now it's been proven that either/or/combo is just fine. Whatever floats yer boat and gets the job done. 4

AndyPanda
You are kidding, right? The people who are refusing to get vaccinated anyway have already caused a major crisis for humankind. Are these the same people who have decided that all birds have been wiped out and replaced with government drones? Most likely. https://www.audubon.org/news/are-birds-actually-government-issued-drones-so-says-new-conspiracy-theory-making

I doubt that there will be "millions of people running around" seeking mix and match shots. Nothing to do with the morons who refuse to get vaccinated - that's a different circus altogether.
AndyPanda
There are already millions running around refusing a shot at all. Why would this be any different? The line between sanity and stupidity is very thin, and Covid has shown that more than anything else. Those teetering on the brink of stupidity may very well fall over onto the wrong side with this proclamation. And I disagree with the "sky is falling" comparison. That's a phrase used as a put-down and a negative judgment call by making something normal seem to be injudicious.
