sm1mex
Lake Medical Group handled all the insurance billing for patients. You pay your deductible and LMG bills your insurance company for the balance due the hospital for direct payment from insurance to the hospital. Tomas
My issue with LMG billing was that they billed your insurance Stateside prices for services received in Mexico.
HarryB
Hey, they have to pay for the Mercedes somehow!
Mainecoons
United Health Care covers out of country emergency medical and we had no problem getting reimbursed for same. We were charged Mexican prices and they reimbursed us direct for same. To charge U.S. prices for Mexican medical services is theft IMO.
RickS
So is this a 'private' United Healthcare policy, a Medicare Supplement gap policy or a Medicare Advantage policy? If either of the latter two, does UHC know that you live full time in Mexico?

I am not saying it is this group/hospital, but a reg. $800mxn specialist charge was billed the equivalent of $9600mxn and many, many services were double billed, but insurance caught before payment. Those that are happy with HSA will stay and those who are not will leave. My only suggestion is that if you use insurance at HSA, then be sure to have a back-up plan if it suddenly is yanked. JMHO. Juan Escamilla
Hospital San Antonio billed my insurance for services and medications that we never provided to me. When I called them to question the bill they threatened to have me arrested in Chapala. My insurance company is investigating them
Tomas
They bill your insurance USA medical service prices... best to seek treatment elsewhere. Their billing is total bullshit.
Ferret
Fascinating all the brand new posters who are denigrating Hospital San Antonio and then never post again. Somebody's got an agenda. I wonder who?
