Lakeside Medical Group dropping HSA

Recommended Posts

United Health Care covers out of country emergency medical and we had no problem getting reimbursed for same.  We were charged Mexican prices and they reimbursed us direct for same.  To charge U.S. prices for Mexican medical services is theft IMO.

So is this a 'private' United Healthcare policy, a Medicare Supplement gap policy or a Medicare Advantage policy?  If either of the latter two, does UHC know that you live full time in Mexico?

I am not saying it is this group/hospital, but a reg. $800mxn specialist charge was billed the equivalent of $9600mxn and many, many services were double billed, but insurance caught before payment. Those that are happy with HSA will stay and those who are not will leave. My only suggestion is that if you use insurance at HSA, then be sure to have a back-up plan if it suddenly is yanked. JMHO.
