synvisc one - knee grease

Had Dr. Gabriel, the Orthopedic Surgeon at Quality Care inject this Synvisc One into a knee joint which had either lost its fluid or cartilage. Very painful and disabilitating. This stuff had an 80% immediate improvement, and is getting better every day. It is supposed to last 6 months, then you may need another injection. It is not inexpensive, at 9000 pesos, Dr. Gabriel's expert application at 1,200 pesos - but it is a lot less than knee surgery or replacement.

Also highly recommend …. Hyaluronic acid injections in the right knee administered by Dr. Gonzalez the orthopedic surgeon at the San Antonio hospital. A series of three injections over a three-week period usually last me between eight and 12 months. The total  cost is approximately 5000 pesos . Game changer for me as I walk 4 or 5 miles every day and hike the mountains onthe weekend…… hoping it puts a knee replacement surgery off for at least a couple more years or more .

Hyaluronic acid has been around a long time.... maybe first used in horses before humans. 

When you say it usually 'lasts me 8-10 months', just what was the problem before and what is it actually 'curing'?  Just curious (says the guy with lumbar spine pain where nothing short of nerve ablation gives any relief).

Synvisc is hyaluronic acid. It is a brand name. I received the shots for about three years and put off knee replacement for that long. Stuff is amazing. I received two shots, three weeks apart.

Yes, and completely natural. It is extracted from chicken and rooster combs!

Now waiting for a specialist from Guadalajara who is prepared to travel to Chapala to perfom an abellation on my hip joint, which has no cartilage remaining. I dont know what technique she uses to destroy the pain nerve, but I know she uses a flouroscope to precisely align the treatment.

I mention this in case anybody else needs abellation at the same time.

The word is 'ablation'.... the destruction of tissue for any number of reasons. 

In my case the ablation of nerves in my lumbar region is done with/by RFA... radio frequency ablation, and yes guided by a flouroscope. Anything less is like the blind leading the blind.... "maybe I'll fry the nerve and maybe I won't".  Close is only effective in horse shoes and hand grenades as they say.

Wife had the series of three hyaluronic acid injections by Dr. Gonzalez in her knee about six weeks ago and the cost was about $11,000. p  she had the same procedure done three years ago with great success. Dr. Gonzalez was surprised it helped for that long.
