mexijims1
We are getting prepared for rainy season and have had progressively worsening leaking windows in our second story front bedroom window facing the lake. We have large windows facing both East and Southern directions ! We are entering our fourth rainy season with this problem. In addition to being on the second floor, the largest windows are over a pool -- prohibiting a ladder or scaffold to be used on the outside. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding who could repair such a problem? We have had one window replaced, but contractor was not much help on the others. Thank you ! Go Solar
You mention a contractor; have you checked it with / by a really good glass & window shop like the ones in Chapala on the main drag? The other option could be to install a covering above it, to keep the water away from the windows in the first place......like an awning or overhang, fixed or retractable.....a wide variety of materials could be used from sunproof fabric, to a range of clear or tinted polycarbonate, to one made up of solar panels.
mexijims1
Thanks, but the roof is too high for these to be installed and be effective. Again, being on the second floor, when the storms blow directly from the east, nothing overhead would stop the water from coming in. mexijims1
I appreciate the one useful response. My answer to that one is that the contractor I mentioned was one of the window shop guys located on the carretera !
