David77
I’m looking for borates or boric acid to keep the pH from rising in a saltwater pool. Has anyone used in their pool? And if so, where would I find it? Thanks!
Mainecoons
Good read here: https://dengarden.com/swimming-pools/Adding-Borate-in-a-Swimming-Pool Quote 20 Mule Team Borax is preferred by most people due to its lower cost. Also, you can use it to raise the level of pH without increasing the total alkalinity (TA) level, which is a plus when you have low pH and you need to raise it without raising TA in your water. However, the only downside of 20 Mule Team Borax is that when used as a pH stabilizer, you will have to use a strong acid such as muriatic acid along with it to lower pH, which may cause more problems in alkalinity level. Anyway, here is how to add 20 Mule Team Borax into your pool. You might be able to find this here, the rest listed in this piece are water specialty chemicals probably not available.
Ferret
20 Mule Team Borax is available in SuperLake. I use it for laundry and you will find it with the laundry products. Northeast corner.
cedros
I used Sodium Bisulfate which is available at most pool strores and not expensive if you buy a large bag. Also called pH down
