Vaccine news and rumors

Recommended Posts

CanSino is designed to be similar to Johnson and Johnson's  vaccine makeup, which  also requires only one shot.

Do not know that much CanSino, whether or not it has had any of J&J's problems for women from 18-50.

IT would have been much easier for administration and patients if we had had access to one shot regimen here in Ajijic and Chapala.

Those who who drove into Guad or elsewhere to successfully get the Pfizer vaccine were very fortunate.  I hope the boosters next year are available in the private medical sector, who can manage things much more easily than the Federal Government here.

You have posted those links before but they are not helpful. Not your fault.

They both are very helpful........ Just not for you ... which the poster really did not need to know.

The  link is to register for 50 years older and above and for pregnant women 18 or older.

The other link has information about Tonalá, El Salto and Tlajomulco sites which many lakesiders have used,

Appointment registration starts tomorrow.

Not really designed to be similar, but uses the same "viral vector" technology.

Breaking news on Cansino

https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/coronavirus/cansino-only-effective-6-months/

Quote

The immunity against Covid-19 provided by China’s single-shot CanSino vaccine — which has been used in Mexico to inoculate millions of seniors and teachers — declines significantly after six months, according to the results of a clinical trial.

People inoculated with the vaccine should therefore be given a booster shot, the study concluded.

According to a report by the newspaper El Universal, the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, one of the Mexican institutions involved in the trial that began late last year, wrote to participants earlier this month to advise them that immunity against Covid-19 generated by the CanSino shot had been found to wane “significantly” after six months. It didn’t specify what it meant by significantly.

The CanSino vaccine had been found to be about 75% effective against the coronavirus and 100% effective against serious disease.

In 6 months, we'll be able to get vaccinated by private clinics. Could be worse.

It might be better privately but it probably will cost.

CanSino clarified on Tuesday that the effectiveness of its vaccine against COVID-19 is not lost six months after its application.

The pharmacist pointed out that "a communication error" caused this information to be given to participants in the phase 3 trial carried out in Mexico.

CanSino stressed that all vaccines against the new coronavirus are still in development and therefore, there is no certainty about how long their effectiveness lasts.

"We do have the certainty that at some point each and every one will have to be reinforced, " he said in a statement.

The company added that it is not yet known how much this reinforcement will be applied, but the date will be reported "as soon as we have the necessary data."

Seems to me first they claim it isn't short lived and then they say they don't know.

Pakistan reported the same thing.  They have a communication error?

Sorry, I just don't trust the Chinese to tell the truth about anything let alone this pandemic they started.

Truth is, none of these "vaccines" have been out there long enough to really verify efficacy and staying power, and determine if there are any serious long term side effects.

MC, you seem to have information that not even the US Intelligence services or WHO or the CDC have. Care to tell us where you got your definitive info?

Next time, maybe a little more research before the snark attack?  :D

And this:

Sinopharm’s parent company, Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group, announced in December that, despite having developed its own vaccine candidate, it would purchase 100 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine developed by American company Pfizer.

Gee, I wonder why?

It definitely will cost. I don't think it will be cheap, unless the government puts a cap on pricing, and I don't think that will happen.

Considering that Carlos Slim just bought a lot of vaccine for Africa. The cost, at manufacturers pricing, was just over $4 US per vial. They should have shared access to doctors, pharmacies, private hospitals from the start. To expect a senior to line up for 6 hours, to save less than $10 is maddening. It has to be about politics then, AMLO wants credit as the vaccine man who saved Mexico. He is sure far from that. Asking the equivalent of a junior boy scout troop to organise all the shots and records. Ridiculous.

The thing that has become apparent to me, with all this global blending, etc., is that we will be going through something very similar next year. Public Health had better sorted it out by then. Communication, Distribution, Record Keeping, everything has to be in place. Otherwise it is not cartel violence to fear in this country, but rather the mishandling of infectious diseases.

LOL

What I'm now trying to figure out is how these Posts on vaccine effectiveness have anything to do with a carte blanche claim that the Chinese government "are not telling the truth let alone about the pandemic they started". Pappysmarket alluded to the fact that the Post Title asked for rumors also.  Is this the case?  Were you just restating a yet unfounded rumor when you suggested that the "Chinese started the pandemic"?

Uh Rick, where did it come from?  Ireland?  You need to catch up, even your MSM that called it a conspiracy theory for months is backpedaling so fast they are tripping all over themselves.

 LOL

BEIJING (AP) — China’s top disease control official, in a rare acknowledgement, said current vaccines offer low protection against the coronavirus and mixing them is among strategies being considered to boost their effectiveness.

China has distributed hundreds of millions of doses of domestically made vaccines abroad and is relying on them for its own mass immunization campaign.

But the director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Gao Fu, said at a conference Saturday their efficacy rates needed improving.

“We will solve the issue that current vaccines don't have very high protection rates,” Gao said in a presentation on Chinese COVID-19 vaccines and immunization strategies at a conference in the southwestern city of Chengdu. “It’s now under consideration whether we should use different vaccines from different technical lines for the immunization process.”

Nice deflection BTW instead of just admitting you were wrong.
