Can’t comment on what happens in CDMX because I never go there.   I have never seen anything official about GDL. The only thing I’ve ever seen is expats posting here trying to justify their point of view..and its been the same six expats complaining for the last 11 years...

In my neighborhood in Mex City we do not have trucks with Loud speakers or gas trucks, of parties that blare music, If you here it in front of house, on street it is too loud an patrolmen will make the turn it down, I wish it would be like that here, We doo have alot of street musicians, but they have to have a permit..

GDL anti noise activity frequently reported about in the local Mexican press and also in the GDL Reporter.  There's a lot of anti-noise activity in the Mexican community around the country, maybe you need to broaden your sources of information.  Those sources have been cited in threads here as well.  Surprised you would have missed it.  For example, just from the Informador

In 2018 Jalisco passed a comprehensive package of noise regulation legislation.  Since then, in the ZMG, there has been a steady stream of reports on enforcement and bar closures.  One does not have to go someplace to read the news about it.

My observation is the Mexican community seems to be more aware of the adverse health effects of noise than the expat community here and more inclined to do something about it.

In Mex City you also don't have church bells but you never other than night are away from the sounds of airplanes as the airport is in the middle of the city. It is such a relief to come home sometimes. My info comes from visiting my relatives.

Here we go again the gringos are getting restless..

Let’s make Ajijic like S*** Town USA..

Nope, you are way off.  The Federal and State noise laws were written up by Mexicans, not gringos!!!  Plenty of Mexicans are sick of the noise, especially rock bands from local bars where they play loud enough for 5000 people for an audience of maybe 30-40, if that.  If you spoke Spanish, you could talk to the neighbors of these bars and find out how they really feel.  GDL has an active cruzadacontraelruido which has brought about positive changes but it hasn't been enough  Go the their FB page to find out how Mexicans really feel.  It was reported in the GR that in the 1 month period between the new Jalisco Law and its enforcement, they had 1000 noise complaints.  Please do not paint this as a gringo problem, that just shows what a bubble you are living in.

tHE mEXICANS PASSED A federal LAW AS A HEALTH LAW. sTATES TAND MUNICIPALITIES FOLLOWED BY ADOPTING THE LAW AS HAS cHAPALA( ASSUMEDLY RUN BY MEXICANS AS FOREIGNERS CAN not HOLD PUBLIC OFFICE.  I apologize for the caps didn't notice

The police can only ask offenders to lower. The reguladores enforce and have power to shut down. Petitions can result in shut downs and loss of business licences. They did stake our a place in La Canacinta and shut it down.

It’s the same 6 gringos that attended a meeting quite a few years ago at a persons home who shall remain nameless...They were going to close down every venue with music that continued after 7pm.  Never happened.. There are more music venues that ever before .. Why. ?  Because the majority of the people want music..  But they like to bring the subject up about once a year to see if they can drum up more support for their cause..

All that’s missing is the post.. “I was a sound engineer for 50:years blah blah”

Somebody missed the point; that Mexicans passed the law restricting noise, and that cohetes are not in the same category as music venues.

And there are quite a number of bar owners in GDL and CDMX who have learned this the hard way.  It has certainly been pointed up here on numerous occasions backed by links to supporting evidence.

At some point, Gringal, you have to wonder if some people are missing the point deliberately.

Personally, my experience talking with Mexicans, is that the noise problem has grown here over the past 5 to 6 years.

Various reasons. A Mexican lawyer friend has lived here his whole life: "Ruido hasta la madre," he says.

On a constructive note, look at electronic Sleep boxes on Amazon.com.mx

Some boxes give plenty of choices of different noise blocking sounds. Cheap insurance for a night's sleep.

Cheers,

It’s the expats that want noise enforcement.. Led by one particular expat who’s name we are not allowed to mention on here.

Yeah that's why all those laws and enforcement in GDL, CDMX and other Mexican cities.  Why do you persist in making this totally disproven statement?

Frankly I think there is no noise enforcement here because of the expats and the bars that cater to them.

From January 1 to June 13, 2021, the Guadalajara Police have attended 16,378 noise reports , that is, about 100 daily reports. Only in the last week recorded, which runs from June 7 to 13, 2021, 513 reports were attended for this reason.

In these cases, reported the Guadalajara Police Station, the reported home is visited with a sound level meter that measures whether the decibels exceed the permitted levels, if so, they give the resident a warning in which they are warned that, if the noise is not reduced in Within 30 minutes, you will be credited with a penalty of up to 36 hours of arrest or fines ranging from 2,688 to 44,810 pesos.

The Commissariat highlighted that in cases of excessive noise, the elements explain to the offenders, by delivering the warning in writing, the reason for it and mediate with them to promote a healthy neighborhood coexistence , which is based on Section II of Article 9 of the Civic Justice Regulation of the Municipality.
