Mainecoons
This doesn't tell us much without specifying whether or not Permanent Residents will be allowed to leave and reenter as in the past when the border was supposedly closed to "non essential" travel. A little more on the topic: https://www.vallartadaily.com/u-s-extends-travel-restrictions-at-canada-mexico-land-borders/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+VallartaDaily+(Headline+News+from+Puerto+Vallarta) Think the cartels will comply? Bisbee Gal
From various news sources, the focus is on MX's southern border. Part of the deal with the US for their 'loan' of 2.5 million doses of AstraZeneca to MX, in exchange for MX to stop migrants at is southern border in order to relieve pressure at US-MX border. Sonora is in discussions with US for limitations at the northern border with AZ during Semana Santa and Semana Pascua, but so far it does not call for stopping tourist crossings to the beaches, as it did last year. Mostlylost
A Residente Temporal or Permanente has the right as a legal resident to enter Mexico at the border. Same as permanent resident (green card) has the right to enter the USA at the border. Returning to your place of legal residence falls under "essential travel"
Bisbee Gal
Sonora has announced that tourists need to show a negative Covid test to enter Mexico during Easter season, along with proof of reservations or having a home there. https://mexicodailypost.com/2021/03/22/are-you-planning-to-travel-to-sonora-they-will-ask-you-for-a-negative-test-for-covid-19/?fbclid=IwAR2OKZLuc_I8Tqnuny37N7WrulGfguq3gh31HsJQkaGXotRriP3R8S0cihg
