SINOVAC - Covid Vaccine supposedly being used in Chapala and Lakeside communities

Recommended Posts

The vaccine administered today and yesterday is supposedly the Chinese Sinovac product.  The medical people administering the vaccinations have advised that having received the vaccine the recipients should avoid alcohol for a 20 day period.

The following web-address deals with the subject:

While there is some state of the art medical care and some really good doctors in Mexico, I have also been told some utterly absurd things with no basis in science, by medical personnel here.

I wouldn't take what someone administering vaccines said to be the truth. Do your own research.

They say alcohol lowers the efficacy of the vaccine.. Mexican doctors are very much against alcohol and French doctors are not , they actually serve a small bottle of red wine with dinner in the hospitals, they say it relaxes people.. Every culture has their does and dont  and do not be surprise if they contradict each other.

We were told in Chapala today to not drink today only and not take aspirin today only.

I imagine the no drinking advice is more about judging whether you are having a reaction that should be attended to by medical personnel than about it having an effect on the efficacy of the vaccine. If you're sober and start to feel dizzy, or queasy or ill, it would likely be due to the vaccine- if you drink all afternoon and evening, and feel like that, it might just be the booze.
