dcstroker 121
If you need another reason to not take the toll road to Costco and environs. We took the road this morning as usual (we only live 5 min. from the entrance to the toll) and were surprised to see that that rate has gone up to 96p from 75p. Not sure if it's worth the extra 10 minutes I save.
Mainecoons 5,347
Nearly $5 to go from Chapala highway to Lopez Mateos? Nope not worth it particularly now the carretera has been so much improved. Not to mention getting onto it when heading north requires that insane retorno and taking your life into your own hands. Amazing this uber pricey road couldn't provide a proper junction with Chapala highway.
Tingting 437
Gosh, it's worth it to me. The ride is usually quiet/relaxing until you hit Guad and it gets you relatively close to the "good" Costco. Plus, there are quite a few shops (Office Max, Home Depot, Petco) and restaurants on the way back. $5 for making this direction-limited driver easily get from Point A to Point B? A bargain!
Mostlylost 1,489
The other way is to take the highway through Cajititlan and Tlajomulco to Lopez Mateos south.
slainte39 1,720
We went in on the Macro this week and it´s worth the 96., if you are in a hurry. Came back through El Molino and Joco for Joco helado. The Tlajomulco road has lots of traffic, topes, and traffic lights. 1
