LT56NY
I have to go back to the States on Friday and would really like to have an N-95 mask to wear on the plane. If I did not need to go I would definitely not be traveling. I will be getting a Covid test on Thursday. If anyone knows where I can purchase the N-95 masks I would greatly appreciate it. I would prefer them over the Chinese version I think those are called KN-95. I know they are pretty good but not as good as the N-95. Thanks in advance
johanson
The best I could get in Seattle were KN-95 masks. The N-95 masts are for hospital workers and doctors only. Or so I understand.

lcscats
Both are 95%. The KN95 masks are a little bit harder to breath thru. I have both and I can't tell the difference. You are worrying about nothing unless you are breathing impaired and in that instance the N95 masks might be a little bit better in terms of breathing ease. If I was flying I would use a KN95 mask with a face shield and not touch my face or remove my mask for the balance of the flight. After leaving the airport I would throw away the mask and clean my hands and face shield and put on a new mask. Biggest error in mask wearing is touching face or mask or not wearing mask correctly. When removing mask use the strings not the mask itself. I have no idea if customs/immigration makes you remove mask so that might be an issue.
