cyberjack
I seem to recall that the government offices in Chápala close early for the holidays and reopen in January. Do you know the dates and does this apply to Drivers Licence testing? Do I need an appointment to take the test? i am over 70 years old and have a valid Canadian licence so I believe I only need to do the written test. Is that still true? Thanks in advance
Mostlylost
You need an appointment. I think Friday the 18th is the last day. As to drivers test it is hit and miss as to needed or not needed. https://citas.jalisco.gob.mx/transporte/client/locationList

Bisbee Gal
We showed our valid US licenses and they did not require us to take driving part of test. This was a few months ago. You also need to bring proof of residence such as house deed, CFE or TelMex bills. And your CURP. Here is link to page with requirements and costs. https://www.jalisco.gob.mx/es/gobierno/comunicados/tramite-de-licencias-de-conducir-2020
cyberjack
Did I read somewhere that the Chapala office closed last week and Guad was the nearest site? Thanks to all for your help. This webboard is such a fantastic resource.
