cedros
The old galvanized pipes are rotting away and leaking. I there an easier way than chipping out the brick/concrete, removing the old pipes and putting in new plastic ones. A daunting job.
happyjillin
We just had ours done and since we had planned on having the whole interior painted anyway the majority of the new PVC pipes are outside the walls.

When you say outside the walls do you mean on the surface-either inside or outside the house?

Inside the house on the surface. The walls will all be painted white and the pipes were placed mainly in corners ,high up or down low. Some were inside cupboards on the back walls. Been in 1 week now and no more musty smell in our kitchen cupboards, high ones and low ones. Moisture inside walls will candle up.
cedros
Thanks. I got it. That is certainly an easier way but in some rooms it may be unsightly.

If you don't look you won't see it. A few pipes here and there aren't bothering us who own and live in the place and we're not out to impress anyone else.

If they're trying to sell the place chips ahoy.
Kiko
Furr out the walls where necessary with metal studs and sheetrock finish. Just a thought.
