Mainecoons
We've tried calling the service numbers and the call just gets diverted to an open line with no one and nothing on it. Tried several different numbers with the same result. Tried on both a cell phone and a land line. Since we no longer have a local office to go to, what does one do now? Is there an office in Chapala or other nearby town? Gracias!

Mostlylost
800 123-2222 or online using your mitelmex account. Nearest office is in GDL
Mainecoons
Tried that. Twice. That's the number that just ends up with an open line. When tried on cell phone, the message was the number isn't recognized.
Mainecoons
Has anybody tried going to the repair facility over in San Antonio?
Go Solar
Go out and literally stop one of the Telmex pickup service trucks in town. See if the crew can help, or if they have a good private contractor to connect you with.

mudgirl
You look for a Telmex truck and offer them 200 pesos to come fix your problem. Or you can spend weeks trying to do it the official way.
Mainecoons
Will try this, also would appreciate a referral to a tech who can deal with this and get the problem fixed.

When you call the 800 number have you tried using the menu to report problem with Infinitum and not phone service? Once you get a tech and you are done reporting the infinitum problem then report the phone line as well.
Mainecoons
We can't get anyone to answer at the 800 number. It just goes dead after being put on hold. Also tried texting to *2222 and get message that "message undeliverable." Will try to get infinitum on the line.
Yo1
I talked to the Telmex guy that was servicing the big box at Chapala Haciendas #1 the other day. He said there are about 100 lines in CH with problems for the last couple of weeks. He was there fixing what vandals had done to the box. They break the lock and have a good time screwing up everybody's lines. He checked my number and said mine was a different problem and did his magic and I had a dial tone. #HarryB
Maybe someone nearby could setup a wireless video camera? The police are responsive to detailed video that leads them to criminals.
mexilady
Use Whatsapp and text 331 520 9621. That is someone in the Ajijic office. Explain that you can't get through to Mexico City. My line got fixed the same day.
