InChapala1
Is there an insecticide or treatment I can apply to prevent the South American palm tree weevil from attacking palm trees? A neighbor lost a couple of palm trees to this beetle and would like to prevent infestation on my property.
WideSky
From doing some reading you might be SOL (shit outta luck) unless you can find a fumigator that can spray the crown of the palm. By the time you can see evidence of infestation it's too late and cutting down is the only option.
Bisbee Gal
Chapala Tree Service has been treating our palms for the past 2 years, once every 90 days. Two of the palms are reachable by tall ladders and they place the treatment within the crown (not a spray). The tallest palm they treat via topical granules at base, which is not as effective but worth a shot. None of the treatments are guaranteed, but it is all that is currently available.
PNR1
Second Chapala Tree Service on treatment. No guarantee, but Roberto is good and honest as are all his people. 1 1
InChapala1
Thanks. I will reach out to Chapala Tree Service. I have a guy who trims my palm trees and he offered to treat the trees, if I could figure out what insecticide to use. I'm guessing Chapala Tree Service's treatment is proprietary and not something I can buy at a store?
