sm1mex 379
I was in a small store doing some business and the store staff and all other customers none wore a mask. I social distanced with my mask and eye protection. No wonder cases are rising in Chapala. Ajijic is much more compliant with masks.

The information is for the Municipality of Chapala, which includes Ajijic.
thevalerieleigh 265
How do I get information regarding cases in Jocotepec? Thanks, Val

As for your silly statement about Chapala vs. Ajijic, it is so far off the mark that I would venture you were just flapping your jaws for exercise. 1 1
Jim Bowie 576
It appears that Europe is beginning the "second wave" as cases are more now than at the beginning there. Reminds me that by the end of October was when Mexico was expected to have its second wave. It is still among us !
Bisbee Gal 1,704
@thevalerieleigh You can go here http:// https://coronavirus.jalisco.gob.mx/ and download the daily stats. Or, look at my Daily thread---I usually copy the morning report form a local newspaper that includes Joco.
thevalerieleigh 265
Great, thanks! I have an elderly friend who lives in Roca Azul who was quite certain that there weren't any cases in Joco. I told her that there were but wanted the statistics to back up my claim. I appreciate the details and your daily report. Stay safe and healthy, Val

As of yesterday, Chapala has 115 cases v. Joco's 105. Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos has by far the most cases at 214. Don't know populations of each municipio; that would be a factor in # of positive tests.
dave0415 140
The total number of cases means nothing without either the number of recovered or active cases. It is merely a number. It does not mean that that number of people is walking among us spreading the disease.
Bisbee Gal 1,704
The increase in the number of new positive cases each week can indicate a trend, IMO.
Guiness 383
And remember that without extensive quick result testing it's all a guess.....many many more cases most likely that what is reported. 2
