deanhodgson
Hello, for the future, is there cremation for pets in the Ajijic Chapala area? Has anyone found and used boarding for cats that are not confined to to small cages for up to 8-10 days. Thanks for any reply or advise. Natasha
Cremation.... yes. The Drs. ladron actually built a crematorium east of Chapala (near Lucky Dog) a few years ago.... I imagine other vets are using it too because you are not supposed to bury deceased pets any more. Cat boarding --- Pat Lawrie 365 766 4170 or cell 333 442 6244 used to have individual rooms (like small bedrooms) for cats. And sometimes they were even allowed in her house. You'd have to check with her to see if still applies.
MtnMama
Most all the Vets offer cremation. Prices vary.

mudgirl
I don't quite understand any of this for those who have their own property. When my old dog finally passes on, I plan to bury her in my yard, with a nice little memorial altar. I'd tell my family to do that with me, too, if it were legal.
johanson
I just know what some of my neighbors have done for smaller pets. They just dug a deep hole, dropped the pet in and filled the hole. It was stressed that the hole should be deep or another animal might dig it up.
