Not sure exactly what this means.  If we have Permanentes, would we not be let back in?  I know the U.S. admits citizens with passports going in the other direction.

It means Canadians may not drive to Mexico as they are not allowed to enter the US by car. Some are desperate as even their house has sold and they have no where to live.

They can store their belonging and fly to Mexico, No? Later on they can figure it out...

Their vehicles, trailer and extensive belongings are in Canada. While they thought of this option it is a major hardship according to them.

They are allowed to enter the USA for a Medical appointment. Why not make an appointment in the USA with a specialist, get a return email form the DR's office?  Then cancel the appointment? That's what Mexicans are doing...

Are they allowing people to fly in on a tourist visa? A friend's daughter wants to fly down to see how her mom is doing, will that be possible?

yes

It may be time for them to consider selling their vehicles, trailer, and most other belongings, in order to make the move as economical as possible. After all, they will be living in Mexico, so one would assume that they  have a Residente Temporal Visa, which will transition to Permanent in short order. As such, they would avoid the problem of returning a vehicle to Canada when they become Permanentes.

Do you really think they did not weigh this option? Plus they have dogs and it is summer time.

We drove down with 3 mastiffs in July from San Francisco.. We left very early in the morning and stopped driving around 2 got a room and went for walks wth dogs in the evenng. To break the trip we stayed in Tucson for a couple of days, put the dogs n a kennel with A/C and that was a nice break for us.. It is possible... no problem.

We're newbies and entered Mexico August 3, at the Colombia Solidarity International Bridge Crossing just outside of Laredo @ 08:30am. It could not have been much easier and had been recommended on some Facebook groups. We were literally the ONLY gringos at immigration and while getting our TIP.  We never  saw US CBP as we entered MX from the US.

We drove on to Lakeside on toll-roads, overnighted in Matehuala at Las Palmas Hotel (nice, clean, safe retro Palm Springs-style hotel, very reasonable with a good restaurant) Great drive. No hassles. And as you've been reading ALL the hassles now are getting back INTO the US.

Jubilacion, that's the beauty of Mexico. You never know what is going to happen. The next person may get a rep who didn't sleep , had a hangover or fought with the spouse and got rejected! Viva Mexico!

There have been multiple accounts on this board. of people crossing into Mexico by land during the "closure" with no problem. Perhaps you have direct knowledge of someone who was refused entry?

No, just 30 years of experience with Mexico bureaucracy. It was a light hearted comment. So if you are ready to start an an attack please don't waste all our time!

No attack at all.

Just asking for relevant information, and not conjecture which could send false information to readers of the thread.

P.S. I have a lot more than 30 years dealing with Mexican bureaucracy.
