New Dog Shelter

Recommended Posts

It better not be near us we & neighbours spent 5 yrs getting rid of the Old Lucky Dog. Same issues, no after hrs staff, few week end staff. They are much happier & better off were they are out side Chapala, towards the golf course. Too many doggie do-gooders here are creating the problems!

I visit friends in the area and had to ask what was up with the racket. Feel sorry for you folks that are permanently near it. I live on a street with over 50 dogs in a two block area. House dogs, not kenneled, and it's nothing like that.

The dogs are locked in cages 24/7? No wonder they bark or howl day and night. I hope those poor dogs can be moved to a better place with space to move around.  Right now it seems that both dogs and a neighborhood are suffering.

A lot of those dogs have been rescued from abusive situations thru the assistance of the bomberos and Ecologica. You can't/shouldn't expect an instant change in behavior just because they are being cared for. Some dogs will howl/bark just for the sake of hearing themselves. Who knows what situations these animals experienced prior to their removal from their previous owners. It takes a long time to rehabilitate an abused animal but at least it is a start.

The dogs do not bark all the time There are workmen there during the day completing the septic system as well as the buildings etc and the dogs are quiet for the most part. The dogs are rescues from abuse. Starting up any new program takes a huge amount of effort and time to iron out all the kinks. They are making improvements daily

Work out the kinks in an unpopulated neighborhood.  Dogs unders stress is not good for the dogs or the neighbors

This should not be an attempt for a political gain , this is not about politics but about the best for the dogs and the neighborhood

Putting a dog shelter in the middle of a thousand condos just shows that the Ecology Director has no knowledge of the municipality. The improvements being made are being done without the permission of the Secretary General as this is a temporary facility. Local residents are working to find a more appropriate site. There is a facility with 50 dogs just across the street. Thus they react to each other and all the dogs in the area also react to them.

Luckily we have 2 very smart dogs and they are learning the no bark command.

Interesting how someone who lives close by does not hear the barking but can say they don't bark all the time.  Or do you have selective hearing?  Way too many bleeding hearts out there.  A needle is fast and effective and inexpensive.   All the spay and nutter is not working.
