A strong do not travel to MX from USGOV

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure the US has a lot of room to suggest that any other country is not doing a good job fighting the virus.  The US has approx. 4.7% of the world's population and approx. 26% of confirmed Covid19 cases and 22% of deaths.  I'm sure these numbers are not exact because of the numerous ways they have been played to reflect political reality instead of actual reality.  Not just in the US either.  I'm pretty sure Mexico is playing the same games now.  In any case, it sure doesn't look like traveling anywhere is going to be a good option anytime soon.  Alan

I am going to Chicago Monday to escort a new resident down but, I have been taking HCQ as a preventive. BTW I feel great and my sciatica is better.

I bet this starts a fire storm.

No big deal. Some evidence says it works and some says it does not.  I find no evidence that it works as a preventive only as a treatment.  You are a big boy and I assume you have read the risks. I do suggest you add vitamin C. The US is the only place still down talking this simple and safe vitamin.  Ok let the others argue. If you don't mind let us know how this works out for you. I am curious.

I will take another dose Sunday. I return Tuesday. BTW thanks for a reasonable response. I do take Redoxon with zinc daily. I like the taste.

It's interesting the two fattest countries in the world have such high case numbers.

It's easier to eat, drink, and talk in big groups, when you're not wearing your mask, apparently.       Yeeesh.

Wait for THIS surge in 2 weeks.....might be a few bikes needing new owners:

They might have to drop the "T" from the name of the town....feel bad for the majority of the folks who actually live there that know this is a really bad idea:   (and then heading back cross-country to spread it wherever they return to.....wow)

No te preocupes.. About 90% of the Harley Davidson motorcycles ever manufactured are still on the road today.  The other 10% were trailered someplace.  And if any of the Harley riders contracted the virus, then contact tracing would be simple, just follow the oil.

I haven't seen any evidence from a reputable scientific source that says HCQ is good either for prevention OR for treatment. In fact, there are a number of studies that indicate it can have negative effects, including death, on people with certain underlying conditions. As one doctor said, just because a drug is helpful with one condition doesn't mean it is effective or safe for another. As he said, aspirin is good for headaches, but he wouldn't prescribe it for someone with a bleeding disorder. The FDA, the CDC, Dr. Fauci at the NIH, and others all advise against it. But sure, go ahead and use it. I'm sure at least 5 of the 6 chambers in your six shooter you are putting to your head are empty.

Many of the underlying conditions which make covid-19 so deadly, like diabetes and heart disease, are closely related to obesity. An hour hanging out in the Ajijic Plaza will confirm that a very large number of expats here are high-risk. Why do you suppose they sit in close groups, maskless, chatting and laughing? They don't appear to be either ignorant nor uneducated. I guess there really is no cure for stupid.

While obesity is a comorbidity for those infected and seems to impact their outcomes, there doesn't seem to be link between fat countries and higher case numbers and death rates.  Look at Canada, look at Brazil on this list.

This is from the Henry Ford clinic. Just one of many studies. 70 year old CDC approved drug.

Quote

"The Henry Ford Hospital study that was published was a non-controlled retrospective cohort study that was confounded by a number of issues, including the fact that many people who were receiving hydroxychloroquine were also using corticosteroids, which we know from another study gives a clear benefit in reducing deaths with advanced disease," said Fauci, the nation's leading infectious disease expert advising the White House on the coronavirus response.

"So that study is a flawed study," Fauci said after Missouri Republican U.S. Rep. Blaine Leutkemeyer asked him about the trial.

Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System did not immediately return an email seeking comment, but the health system warned in its July 2 press release about the study that follow-up trials were needed.

Fauci's comments come roughly a month after Henry Ford Health System released a study alleging the controversial anti-malarial drug helped lower the death rate of COVID-19 patients "significantly."

Well reputable scientific sources in Seattle told us not to wear masks.  Vitamin C is still being fought against in the US.  I have no faith but you do and thats fine.  I am not taking HCQ and I doubt if I ever would but some of the studies on HCQ kinda stink.

I plan on another dose Sunday then for 3 days. when I get back. I have given my guardian angel my password to report back.

If you don't become infected (and we all hope you don't!), please don't attribute that to taking hydroxychloroquine.  You could just as well attribute not getting the virus to wearing a lucky shirt or carrying a 4 leaf clover or drinking double shots of tequila on your flights.

Buen viaje!
