Should be accessible by all in NYTimes' Coronavirus Section.

Maybe @RVGRINGO and @pappysmarket can comment since they live in that area.

"No pasa nada" says it all for how and why it has spread so fast here in the Valley. They won't give up their pachangas for anything. Excellent article. I spent 12 days in that same hospital late May to June for a severe infection, thank God not Covid. Excellent doctors and nurses.

Thanks for posting.

They might. It's a matter of approach. I have a friend who is a nurse practitioner in the Santa Cruz area. He works with a lot of Mexicans, having medical issues like diabetes, obesity, and other issues. He said the hardest thing is to get them to change their diet (that's hard for most people, actually- we like the foods we like), no matter how much he explained to them that they can't keep drinking Coke and eating greasy foods and piles of tortillas. Then, knowing how important family is to them, he started asking " Do you want to live to see your daughter graduate from university?  Do you want to live long enough to see your grandchildren? Because if you keep eating the way you do, you'll be dead or hospitalized long before that happens."  Well, of course they do, and when he started presenting it like that, he saw a big change in his patients being willing to alter their eating habits.
