The site shown on the banner suggests re-registering annually as in some states they can drop you every year. ibarra Posted July 5, 2020 Report Share Posted July 5, 2020 We used fvap.org (Federal Voting Assistance Program) to register for Absentee Ballots (Overseas Citizen Voter). It was simple. We received emails to be able to vote in the primary in the U.S. State where we registered already. We signed up to receive ballots for the Presidential election by email also. Non-partisan site which will direct you to the U.S. State website where you were last registered to vote. It is usually better to register as a an Overseas Citizen than as an absentee voter or Voter by Mail. In our former state, we get our Overseas Citizen ballots by email and can return them via fax. When we were Voters-by-Mail. there was no email option; they were snail mailed to our TX forwarder and we had to snail mail them back. Problem: their mailing date to us was just a few weeks before the election; with the lag times with all the forwarding, even though we mailed them back the day after we received them, they were late for one (local) election. The anti-vote-by-mail constituency for the most part are not against Absentee Voting, since each voter is authenticated by an established and time tested system. This is what the site on the sign is about. The vote-by-mail constituency advocates mailing out ballots willy nilly from ancient voter rolls where a large % are dead, in jail, moved or otherwise not available. These can be obtained in bulk, marked and signed and mailed back as official votes.
