Eric Blair
They are very easy to mistake for a $10 coin with the only difference being the $10 coin he has a smooth rounded Edge while the $20 one has a beveled Edge. Very easy to mistake the two.

Eric Blair
Allen, as it happens I do have poor eyesight and don't always have glasses with me for a reading. Still, most people are used to the $10 coin by quick look and feel. Have you seen one of the new $20 coin? also, do you look at every $10 coin now to make sure it is $10 coin? In my opinion people who don't look will be giving $20 coins when they think they're giving 10, but maybe I'm the only stupid one in Lakeside.
mudgirl
A 20 peso coin isn't new. There used to be some of them in circulation, but I haven't seen any for years. And yes, the old ones were also easy to mistake. They were a bit heavier, and I can't remember if they had a beveled edge.
artsnob
At Walmart they gave me two twenties instead of two tens I didn’t realize it till I got home and counted my change..
johanson
I have one that I saved from years ago at home. It is bigger than the ten. I didn't know that they were reissuing them again. Check the date on your 20 peso coin, Eric. I thought that they stopped issuing them. Are they reissuing them again?
artsnob
Yes they are reissue them they are a little different but still confusing.

johanson
Hey Mostlylost, thanks for suggesting I watch the video. Somehow I forgot to. The older 20 peso coins I have are circular, the one in the video has many sides. So they are reissuing it again. Looking at it in the video, it's beautiful. I wonder, though, how practical it will be to use. I'm up here in Seattle sitting in kind of sort of quarantine trying to get my taxes done (we've got until July 15th instead of April 15th this year to get them done because of the Coronavirus)

sm1mex
Now if they would just get rid of the centavos. 😖. Talk about confusing. Have to have on coke bottle glasses to read them.
