Karina G
In the absence of graham wafers, has anyone had any luck making a crumb crust from one of the local cookies? Maybe Marias? Ricanelas? Canelitas? Other? If so, would you mind sharing your technique?
Xena
I have had desserts where Marias and Canelitas were used for crust and crumbles. They were not the same but still delicious. I never asked for recipes so I can not tell you what (if any) adjustments they made. Hopefully someone can answer that part for you.
mudgirl
I've always thought that Ricanelas taste just like graham crackers, except with cinnamon. And they have the same crunchiness and texture. I'd think they'd make a decent substitute for the graham cracker crust as long as the cinnamon flavor would go well with the filling. The Canelitas I find way too sweet and they have a softer texture than the Ricanelas.
Willie
I use Marias with great success.
