Sound Lost

Recommended Posts

I have lost all sound to my desk top computer operating Windows 10.  Any suggestions?    Help!

In this order trying after each:

+ Power off/on your speakers   + Unplug/replug the speaker connection to the PC

+ Plug in a pair of compatible ear bud/headphones to see if they work

+ Power off/on your PC

If that fails and if you have another device with the Internet and sound,  go to this URL and follow instructions

If  that does not lead you to the problem then you will probably have to consult with a Windows PC technician in town.  Or maybe someone else can help more here online.

Mike Riley (ComputerGuy) has been suspended from this forum for a month. Normally, he would have been on here trying to help you as well.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I was without internet for two days and I could not reply.  So far, so good this morning.  Telmex just seems to get worse and worse.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

A friend in Los Angeles said to check the speaker icon.  On his computer it is located in the lower right corner of the screen.  Well, on my computer it was not shown; however, when clicked on the hidden icon thing there it was among several other, and surprise it was off.

Now the question is what :() shut it off?   And, why/how would do it.

End of the story.    😁

LOL! My hubby could make whole tool bars disappear and always swore that he didn't do anything. It happens. Glad you got your problem solved though.

Anyone know the reason for the suspension? I have never seen him put up anything but helpful information had a few opinions but nothing and I will consider offencive. Of course those are the decisions that are left to the moderators.

I have always found moderator 2, to  be quiet reasonable in comments and actions.

He doesn't like the President of the US and has been outspoken about it.

He should be quite at home on TOB. I ventured over there once and it was like I had poked a stick in a viper den. The deadly venom that was spewed out after I only made a offhand reference to my conservative leanings was overwhelming. The so called "moderator" (the bald bearded one) went so far as to  fervently wish the Coronavirus on President Trump. He also made quire clear his hatred of moderater 2 here. I will never venture even near the putrid smell there anymore. Be warned!

Or is it possibly because he needed to bring politics of other countries into any thread possible....... when this board is about Mexico??  And was told to stop many many times.  Just a guess....

It's always good when people don't inflict themselves where they aren't welcome.

Seems like quite a conflict of interest and an abuse of power for a moderator to suspend a user due to a personal conflict. Oh yeah, I realize it was because of "political" comments, but the moderator in question was involved in those threads, and has made many political comments himself, (which he self-excuses as only being in retaliation to other posts), so shouldn't be allowed to make the call on a suspension.

You are correct! That is exactly why they will never see me again there. I had no idea until I entered a vipers nest of vapid, socialist stupidity and personal attack. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I'm over there. I saw the posts. You may have felt the way you do because of the unhappy responses to your derisiveness and vitriol. There are always two sides, bucko.

And what's the icon for "something the flew right over your head" in mudgirls's comment to you?

You have no no idea of what I posted...so please get lost!!!

I most certainly do know. Here's just one:

"I will not be part of any discussions where the "monitor" very openly advocates for the President of the US to get infected with the coronavirus...very sick!!! In addition to this I would say 95% of the posters here have very virile TDS and do not have the least ability of considering other views. Can you say LANDSLIDE in November!!! And not for Sleepy Joe."

You are correct sir...and I am quite  proud of that!!! Now why not post some of the many, many extreme and very personal attacks like the one who said that they would not cross the street to piss on me if I was on fire, and that is a mild one since I do not want to get in trouble or offend anyone here. They are so insulated in their extreme views that when someone unaware goes slightly off their reservation they attack like a pack of wild dogs.

This is getting very political and I suggest we get back to the topic of Sound Lost or go to a new unread post. But that's just me.

It's not just the political. It is the constant bickering, probably by people who be chastising their grandchildren if they acted that way!

Yes Pete. The same posters have the need to make any subject change to foreign politics. Maybe there should be one post just for them to use.

I too differ in opinion politically with MC/M#2 but he is a wealth of information and has been right about a lot of issues on this board.  He also has allowed me a wide berth in my often, off topic rants which have very strong and obvious political leanings.  He's treated me fairly here and for this fact alone, I respect him and value his input.
