just wondering where the check point locations are, specifically towards Vista de algo and beyond, thanks much

The only one we encountered mid-week was on the far side of San Juan Tecomatlan heading to Mezcala.

There is one between here and Joco, don't know exactly where. A Joco resident needed to come to this area for a Dr's appt and had a hard time getting through.

It is by the fish restaurants where the Joco/Chapala municipals border starts/ends...they also had a tow truck parked by...They are from Joco Municipal so not sure if they will  recognize what the Chapala mayor has to comment on the Governors directive

On Saturday Chapala had one by that municipal storage shed where the military checkpoint and two huge topes used to be.  Joco had one just outside of El Molino on the mountain side where the road narrows from four to two lanes.  It took over an hour to get through.

Hardly  necessary since there's a big overhead sign there.  :D

Which is nowhere near the restaurant curves. That sign is up before you get close to Arileo Restaurant if coming from the east. Actually, also if coming from the west.

Yes.  The checkpoint they are talking about sounds like one being run by Joco municipio inside their boundary.

Apologies to Monty Python.

Mexican road blocks are like the Spanish Inquisition -no one expects the Spanish Inquisition.

That is so funny I laughed until I hurt.  There's just nothing like Monty Python.  Thanks a bunch for this one.

Just went thru the checkpoint. It is now 50 meters from the green Joco-Chapala sign on the Chapala side of the border. They are only stopping traffic going towards Ajijic.

It could be the reverse to people who live in Jocotepec.  Usage like this is rather vague. What if you live in Las Palmas or. La Canacinta or Guadalajara or San Nicolas, or?

I am done and will not give any info any more as the picayune on here is ridiculous. Sheesh, try to be friendly and helpful and all one gets is criticism. This has gotten worse the TOB.

What I see in this thread is light-hearted teasing. But, I understand how it can feel. Have a wonderful day.
