Ferret
Most countries are in the same boat. No customers because most have died will have the same effect with absolutely zero chance of recovery. Do it right, keep it short and recover. This is no time for sitting on the fence and rolling the dice.

Mainecoons
Just from observation it appears to me social distancing is easier in small shops that have no more than several customers at a time with these big box places.

Fans are easy to acquire, ventilators not so much.
HoneyBee
According to the Informador this morning, face masks will be mandatory as of this coming Monday for Guadalajara and its surrounding towns.
Kyle
Good . I hope they enforce the face mask requirement. Maybe no going in any place without a mask. No essential business should allow you in without one 1
pappysmarket
Here in South Texas you can't get into any store without a mask. They all have people stationed out front to enforce and most stores with multiple entrances/exits have revised things to only one entrance and one exit. Maximum of 2 people shopping together and if you use the self checkout only one person is allowed there, the other must wait outside the area. They sanitize after each customer and sanitize the carts before they let you take one. Smaller stores all have "No Mask, No Service" signs posted on the doors. Boils down to who is inside. I shop in Ajijic; Surtidor, Lopez' fruterías, El Torito, GDL Farmacia. Some customers follow social distancing, many don't. I go inside, assess shoppers' behaviors and their numbers, then decide if I will shop or leave and return later when I see fewer customers and/or see everyone distancing at registers, wearing masks. On Friday morning El Torito was a mobfest of pushy gringos, few masks, little social distancing. GDL Farmacia...mostly good experiences and while no fresh food, they have enlarged their aisles of snacks, condiments, limited pastas, soups, cereals, bread, pre-packed tortillas, etc. Some good specials....solid albacore canned tuna, buy one, get a small jar of mayo free (Hellman's no less!). I like stores that are severely limiting or eliminating customer entry. Lilifher Deli has strict 2-at-a-time entry (and has 2 masked waitstaff behind their long counter). El Granero which reopens Monday, has a no-entry policy....you line up at new store-front counter. They have large sign about distancing in the line and it is mostly adhered to. Before they went on vacation 2 weeks ago, I saw a number of shoppers do this: wear mask while waiting in line, keeping social distancing, then when it's their turn they go up to counter to order, they pull down their mask. Duh! I steer clear of the new OXXO since my initial visit. It's about the only store in Ajijic that has closed doors....which means you gotta touch door handles to enter and exit. No employees wearing masks. Their only wine option is Boone's Farm. I didn't know they still made that crap.
Yo1
I saw a number of customers in Soriana yesterday who had masks hanging around their necks but not over their face. I don't get it.

Maybe the mask around their neck is the same. It is not that comfortable.

Uncertainty is unsettling.

Yo1
Many Mexicans, and with justification, don't trust the government that they are giving out accurate information on the virus. The CD19 could even be a hoax.
HoneyBee
In the Cascada close to were I live I noticed a long line of people many with face masks. I inquired about what it was about and was told that they were waiting for distribution of free food. Asked who was arranging this I was given a blank expression. 😉
