Reading CT scan results

I do not know of an individual but there is a diagnostic clinic across from Quality care.  My caution would be to find a radiologist , not a general practitioner. If all else fails have a specialist in the area in question read it

Personally, I would consult with my doctor and ask their opinion of where I could find the best radiologist to read the scan. If that doctor is in Guadalajara I would take Chapala Plus to Guadalajara and then a taxi or Uber to the office. Cost to do that is minimal, the ride is relaxing, and the peace of mind knowing I was getting the best care priceless.

We are 45 minutes to top medical care, yet far too often people settle for what we have here. Although better than it used to be it's still small town vs major metropolitan city care. Take a few hours and go to Guad.

No matter where you go, interpretation of a CT scan is based upon the dr. and his experience and knowledge.  I find it interesting that so many non docs have such vast information on this topic.

This is why I always recommend consulting with one's primary care doctor.

Too many people think they can circumvent having a GP and that is a foolish mistake IMO.

Yes to having a General Practioner but considering them as that newly made up name "primary care" by GP's is a NOB thing. Every type of doctor has a purpose  and here in most instances, depending on your problem, the GP is not  needed if you have established or about to establish relationships[care] with  specialist in your treatments. Don't loose sight of the fact that you own and are in possession  of ALL your medical records to use as you see fit as in sharing with other doctors for example. That's what I do and I am far from foolish.

Perhaps my use of the term GP was foolish.

I have seen a number of people living here who have no established relationship with any doctor. If the doctor is a specialist in whatever the medical problem a person has, all the better.

At this stage of life I'm comfortable with a doctor who has a variety of skills including diagnosis, treatment and surgery.

To the OP: Who suggested you get the CT-scan? The technician gives a general overview and the doctor who ordered the scan or the specialist they refer you to gives a detailed evaluation.

To chapalence: for the vast majority of us, the new CT-scan machine at SAT hospital will be more than adequate. Unless one has a highly unusual condition or a need to spend lots of money, we are very fortunate to finally have this technology available locally.

I appreciate you sharing.

Should my doctor ever order advanced tests I'll opt for Guadalajara if she has no objections. For me, it's a pleasant ride, an excuse for lunch out, and a break from my daily routine.
