ea93105
Surprised to hear that they are even available here and if so I would guess the interest rate to be well over 10 % ?
Mostlylost
At the moment HSBC has been advertising on TV lower home mortgage rates. In Mexico mortgages have been 10-13% for the last few years. HSBC is advertising 9.6%. terms up to 20 years and up to 90% loan to value Remember that here age comes into play. https://www.hsbc.com.mx/hipotecario/
cedros
Interest rates on a mortgage are much too high in Mexico.
lakeside7
I think that Spencer could best answer that question as I recall he was in that business when he first arrived in Lakeside
Lily H
Cross-Border Mortgage offered by a few large Mexican banks might be a better option (through US or Canadian affiliates). The rate will be higher than current US or Canadian rate (@3.5% in US now for 30 year term) but a lot lower than Mexico.
El Menudo
I assume you are new to the area and suggest you save some stress and money with a one year or two rental. Borrowing money in MX is nothing like your mothers mortgage.
