sm1mex
Can you get a new Internet modem from Telmex with the same password so you don’t have to reprogram all of your devices to a different password on a new modem?

sm1mex
Right. I cannot keep a wifi signal. The modem is years old. Can you just take the old modem to Telmex and They’ll give you a new one right then and there?

You can than ask for help in English. They will test the modem and then give you a report number that you can take to the office with your old modem & power cord. A few people have been able to get a replacement modem without the report number, but usually it will be a waste of time. You can also buy a new modem on Mercadolibre. Buying the modem online at Mercadolibre is far easier that dealing with Telmex in Ajijic and you will be pretty much assured that it really is new and you'll probably get it far faster as well. If you want to go that route then do phone the 1-800-123-2222 number, ask for English and ask the tech which models of modem are the most current and best for your system. That's how I chose mine.
