thevalerieleigh
Hi all Lip Sync is over and we are ready to dance some more!! There will be an intro jazz class taught by Maritza Freyslinger on Mondays at 12:30 starting on Monday Jan. 20. Whether you have danced before or are not sure which is your left foot, the class will have something to offer each participant. The goal of the class will be to teach people to be aware of their body and how it moves through space. The other goal will be to simply enjoy dancing and moving to great music. We also want to announce an addition to the dance classes that we offer. Maritza will be teaching a more advanced jazz class starting Saturday Jan 25 at 10:30-11:30. This class will be at the L’Air Studio in the Bugambilias plaza. This class will definitely be a more advanced class and it will assume that you know the basics of jazz movement. The technique and the choreography will be faster and more high energy. All classes will follow a set format. There will be a warmup phase that will include stretches, roll downs, pliés and so forth. This will be followed by time spent on isolations. The next part will consist of work on technique. Finally we will work on some choreography suitable for the level of the class. So here are the details you need to know: Basic class When: Mondays, 12:30- 1:30 Where: Ricardo's Dance Studio on the north side of the carreterra 3 doors west of the lights at Juarez Cost: 60 pesos per class or 300 for 5 classes Intermediate class When: Saturdays, 10:30- 11:30 Where: L’Air Studio Bugambilias plaza 3rd floor Cost: 60 pesos per class or 300 for 5 classes Dress: loose comfortable clothes, jazz shoes or shoes that give your feet some support without stopping your foot from pointing and flexing and being able to slide running shoe with thick soles do not work Other items: lots of water!!!!
