Mainecoons
My wife was walking home from a meeting and came upon a crew installing cable 2 blocks west of our house. She practiced a little Spanish on them and they said they were from Telmex installing fiber optic cable. They had shirts with that written on them also. Can it be? Is Telmex fiber optic coming to SE Ajijic?
ComputerGuy
They have actually strung cable all around, but how and when they plan to implement it is anyone's guess. Right now they seem to be focusing on extracting money from gated fraccs. However, in Chula Vista, where fibre was strung recently along the highway, at least one person I know saw the speed jump from 5 to 40 to 70, and then down to 40 most of the time... this with an older modem, no new wiring to the house, no change in contract, no fibre on the individual's street... nothing. Out1
Saw a couple of Telmex guys today stringing fiber optic cable on 16 de Septiembre at Colon. Maybe soon we will have higher consistent download speeds in the village. Depending on the time of day I get download speeds anywhere from 8 to a high of 32 on Telmex. Mainecoons
Just ran a check and got 11 down, 0.4 up, about twice what we got last year. Not blazing but a lot better. Streaming TV working perfectly these days.
