Toyhauler 4u
I am hoping some of you Canadians might know the answer or point me in the correct directions. I am a US citizen with a Mexican residente permanente. My truck, trailer, and scooter are Mexican plated. Where can I purchase a short term tourist insurance policy for Canada? Ferret
Lots of options here... https://www.google.com.mx/search?source=hp&ei=L50UXtXeK8uMtgXc15-oBA&q=canadian+car+insurance+for+visitors&oq=Canadian+car+insurance+for+visiting&gs_l=psy-ab.1.0.0i22i30l3.1594.27202..35351...4.0..0.171.3848.28j11......0....1..gws-wiz.......0j0i13i30j33i22i29i30.f806XGljrv4 This is the ONE thing that is a problem IF your stay is longer than three months... Quote Yes, your foreign license should work in Canada for a period of up to three months. After three months, you’re going to need to have a valid Canadian drivers license or an international driver’s permit to be able to legally drive in Canada.
Toyhauler 4u
Thanks Ferret but Google is not very helpful. Neither was Bing. Almost all USA auto policies include Canada. My Mexican insurance doesn't include the USA and Canada. I buy per day policies for for my trips to the USA. There doesn't seem to be any companies selling 7-14 day policies for Canada. Are there insurance offices near the border area that sell per day insurance like they have in Mexico?

Why not call your USA short term provider and see if their policy covers Canada?

Thanks, that was to easy. It was right in front of my nose. The policy I buy for the USA also includes coverage for Canada. https://www.nuagentesonline.com/agents/b6769fb6897300b3dfddc232635dccf9/index.php
